Jason Kokrak (-125)
“is. So my first matchup that I looked at, I was just trying to find the biggest discrepancy
between ball strikers. And the one I found was Jason Kokrak, a guy that you guys have tended to
love and done really well and had a monstrous year this year i got kokrak he's a little expensive
minus 125 over brant snedeker so if you go in and look at the ball striking stats here's how
it shakes out jason kokrak 18th in total driving 15th strokes gain t to green pretty damn good
pretty elite like ball striking level this year for jason kokrak sneds total driving 168 and 72nd
strokes gain t to green when you add in all that and the fact that the kokrak hits it so much
further but also hits it really straight i think that's a big mismatch for a golf course like this
not i would take brand at a lot of a lot of tracks over over cocrack this wouldn't be one of them so
that was the one that jumped out at me i have literally already fired that bet like before
i was on it uh 24 hours ago i saw that one and i fired already uh yep minus 125 okay good”
Independent source result confirms the stored outcome.
Hideki Matsuyama over Gary Woodland (matchup) (-115)
“One that I really like a lot here, almost kind of a similar theme to the Reed over Lowry,
but a little bit different.
I like Matsuyama a lot over Gary Woodland So Gary Woodland also a major winner obviously at the u open since that win he has gone mc mc 55th and on top of that he just had twins about a week ago i do not think that
this uh that gary's mind is all the way on golf as it shouldn't be i think he's playing this
like hey it's the playoffs i gotta play not sure where his game's at but it hasn't been great of
recent matsuyama also on that same token has not been good uh in his last three weeks he's been
incredible all year didn't miss a cut he's missed two missed the only two cuts he's missed all year
two of his last three weeks but when you look at all the stuff we talked about on the golf course
and the iron play and things like that matsuyama fifth in strokes gained t to green third in
strokes gained approach like this checks all the boxes for hideki matsuyama um he should be able to
just ball strike his way around and um he's minus 115 woodland's minus 115 so they're basically
they're straight up in this i like matsuyama a lot i know he's played shitty in the last couple
weeks, but still like him and I'm going to hammer Matt Sciamma over Woodland.”
Matsuyama finished at -6 while Woodland finished at -3 in THE NORTHERN TRUST, so Matsuyama won the matchup (PGA TOUR leaderboard). (Matsuyama -6; Woodland -3)
Chez Reavie top 20 (+165)
“Let's get into some betting.
Let's make a little loot.
I got a name.
You guys have heard me mention him before.
Top 20 bet.
Who do you think it is?
You only say the same guy every single week.
No, you said that last week.
He's a Whisper Rock member.
Every week that I mention him, we have yet to lose on Chez Revy this year.
Not one loss.
So you gave me a lot of shit last week about, oh, you only mentioned Chez.
Guess what?
All I did was beat Gary Woodland by a bunch, and people won a bunch of money again.
That's not because you're good at this.
It's because he's good at golf.
It's because I'm good at picking when he's going to win, when he's going to beat people.
I know the matchup.
He's played really well this year, and you basically pick him every week, and you win it.
Well, you should be picking.
That's not my fault that I'm able to recognize greatness and win a bazillion.
Don't give yourself so much credit.
It's mostly me and some Chez, but it's also identifying when to pick Chez.
So that being said, no, all jokes aside,
Chez is one six plus one 65 to top 20.
I think with this type of field, that's a pretty good bet to make.”
Chez Reavie finished T48 at the 2019 Wyndham Championship, outside the top 20 (PGA TOUR leaderboard). (Chez Reavie T48)
Victor Hovland top 20 (+120)
“And another guy, Peter mentioned briefly Victor Hovland is top 20 plus money also plus 120 those two guys have been the guys have been most successful with this year but just looking at those top 20 type bets those were the two best ones that I saw or that I liked the most”
Viktor Hovland finished fourth at the 2019 Wyndham Championship, inside the top 20 (PGA TOUR leaderboard). (Viktor Hovland 4th)
Danny Lee over Cameron Champ (matchup) (-115)
“I got Danny Lee minus 115 over Cameron Champ, and Peter talks about this a lot. Shop your books here because one of the things The other books I looked at was Danny Lee minus 145, and I was able to find it at minus 115, which makes me like it even more.”
Danny Lee posted 142 while Cameron Champ posted 146 before the cut, so Lee won the John Deere matchup (PGA TOUR leaderboard). (Danny Lee 142; Cameron Champ 146)
Victor Hovland over Keegan Bradley (-105)
“But he had another match
that I saw against Keegan Bradley.
He's minus 105.
And when you look at this golf course,
Keegan, very good tee to green,
very good driver of the golf ball.
But right now, Victor Hovland is probably
the best driver of the golf ball in the game
for total driving.
He's very long, but he's also very accurate.
I do not see him playing very often
from the rough this week,
given how big these fairways are
and how well he drives it.
He's coming off a final round 64,
13th place finish at the Rocket Mortgage.
I don't see stamina being an issue
as I do with some of these veteran guys that have played three, four,
five weeks in a row.
I think Victor's ramped up.
I think he's starting to really maybe get comfortable out there a little bit,
having played a handful of these in a row,
and still gunning for that PGA Tour car,
or at least an exemption into web finals.
So I'm riding him again, dude.
You like him over Finau.
I'm taking him over Bradley.”
Viktor Hovland finished at -15 while Keegan Bradley finished at -10, so Hovland won the 3M Open matchup (PGA TOUR leaderboard). (Hovland -15; Bradley -10)
Jason Day over Brooks Koepka (-105)
“I got Jason Day minus 105 over Brooks Koepka I think Day starting to work with Steve Williams
hasn't won anywhere in 14 months, sort of needs a win,
certainly much more than Brooks Koepka,
needs to prove something to himself, get some momentum.
Koepka doesn't need any of that.
I like Day in this matchup.”
Brooks Koepka finished at -6 while Jason Day finished at -5, so the Jason Day matchup pick lost (PGA TOUR leaderboard). (Koepka -6; Day -5)
Victor Hovland over Bubba Watson (-110)
“I got Victor Hovland minus 110 over a guy that I don't have huge expectations for this week. So it's kind of a double whammy over Bubba Watson.”
Viktor Hovland finished T13 at -15 while Bubba Watson was cut at -1, so Hovland won the Rocket Mortgage matchup (PGA TOUR leaderboard). (Hovland -15 T13; Watson -1 CUT)
Jason Duffner top 20 (+200)
“So being that this is a Donald Ross course,
uh iron play is key is the biggest indicator in my opinion or the biggest factor to consider the
greens are smaller than your average tour uh greens that these guys are used to seeing fairways are
going to be probably pretty comparable but that's the key to lock in on i think bud is really good
especially priced at 7500 and the last bet that i'll give you that i like a lot a very similar
guy in my opinion jason duffner top 20 you can get him at plus 200 uh he was seventh at the
Memorial, which is another, you know, kind of second shot golf course.”
Jason Dufner finished T7 at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, so his top-20 pick won (PGA TOUR leaderboard). (Jason Dufner T7)
