Jack Draper to win Wimbledon quarter 3 (+400)
“futures bet to root for, but I got a shot. Who, what names would you put on that list? For a futures option. Oh, there's a lot of them. So you're looking at the top, top three players are of course, everyone we know, we know Carlos Alcárez, Yannick Sinner, Novak Djokovic, but the long shot that I'm looking to do is backing Jack Draper to win the quarter three. He's a lefty with a big serve. He's coming into this with some really great grass court form. He was on a seven match win streak before he lost in the quarter finals to an American in Tommy Paul at Queens Club. But at that point, he had just simply ran out of gas. So if he now that he has a little bit of break in him, he's highly skilled with the serve in Bali, which is a skill set that excels on Wimbledon grass. So he's also coming into this as the Brit number one at Wimbledon because Sir Andy Murray is on his way out. He's no longer ranked at the top player. He's in his retirement. And so it's kind of like Jack Draper is taking the reins for Murray. And I have high expectations for him and I hope he delivers. He does have a pretty tough draw, but he has the skill sets to get through and you're getting him at four to one odds to win his quarter.”
Draper beat Elias Ymer in round one but lost to fellow Brit Cameron Norrie in straight sets in the second round, so he did not win his Wimbledon quarter (Wikipedia, corroborated by BBC and LTA reporting). (Lost to Cameron Norrie in round two, 7-6, 6-4, 7-6)
Jessica Pegula to win Wimbledon quarter 3 (+1000)
“necessarily at all resemblance of how she can have success here. There is another player instead that I would be looking at for, if you're looking for like a longer shot than Coco Gauff, she does have a favorable draw, but I'm kind of really interested in Jessica Pegula There's several factors as to why she would be a good Wimbledon contender this year. She does have grass court success. She recently won her first grass court championship at the Berlin Open, so she does have the ability to excel on the surface. And race in form, she's coming back from a rib injury that caused her to miss the clay court season. So now she's coming into this refreshed, maybe with a rested mindset. She reached the quarter final of Wimbledon last year. The only caveat why her odds are so good to win the quarter final is because she has made the quarter final at every major in her career. Um, except she's oh and six in quarter finals. So I'm a big believer in you don't you don't do well until you do. So I'm hoping Pagula also has a very favorable draw. She has the skill sets. She has the success in the past. It's just you got to get over that hump, and potentially this could be her chance. Yeah, I'm the same way, Pam. How has your handicap of the women's side of the tournament changed with Sabalenka having to withdraw due to the injury? I know I was talking to you yesterday, and she was the favorite, coming in great form. Obviously, Wimbledon should suit her well. and now the odds, especially towards the top, are jumbled. You were mentioning Pagula. Like, how does the Sabalenka, how does her injury change this tournament? The only reason why I kind of pivoted to Pagula for a quarter option was because Sabalenka did end up withdrawing. She was the only feature option that I liked. She was the favorite coming into the tournament for Wimbledon, and rightfully so. She has a massive serve. She loves quick points. This is her surface. I was super excited about it, and now because she had a WD, there's just not a lot of value in the futures market for me to want to wager on. So I'm kind of just looking for the matchup dependence type of things, maybe putting a little bit of risk on Pagula because I didn't love her yesterday because of that 0-6 mark. But her draw, it shapes, it's, it really is so well. And it's like, if you can just get over it, girl, we're right there. I expect her to get into the quarterfinal. Let's just push on through because it's 10-1 odds for her to win in her quarter and you're getting 20 to one for her to win the tournament. If she can break through the quarterfinal, she could be like the huge, like out of shock surprise to win Wimbledon.”
Pegula, the No. 5 seed, was upset by Wang Xinyu 6-4, 6-7(7), 6-1 in the second round, so she did not win her Wimbledon quarter (ESPN). (Lost to Wang Xinyu in round two, 6-4, 6-7(7), 6-1)
Arthur Fils vs Dominic Stricker over 39.5 games
“Pam anything on the card tomorrow if you had a chance to look at all the players in action in Tuesday slate is anything stood out to you Any bets that you made or any sides that you find intriguing Yes there is I like the over 39 and a half games between two players, Arthur Fields and Dominic Stricker. These players not only have grass court experience and success, having reached either the quarterfinal in previous tournaments or having big upset wins over players like Hubert Hercoc, Stefano Sitsipas, But both players have massive serves so they can be able to hold serve. They're both aggressive and they're aggressive because they're both willing to come into the net. So serve and volley like typical grass court tennis. So you have grass court tennis player number one, grass court tennis player number two. These two are going to clash. I think we're going to see an early round popcorn match between these. I expect it to be competitive because Stricker is a lefty and automatically lefty players have an edge. that's going to give him that serve. He has really good tiebreak history. He's 18 and nine in his young career. He's in his early twenties. So I expect this to go at least four sets, at least one tiebreak. And because of that, over 39 and a half would be the play for me between Arthur Feast and Dominic Stricker.”
Fils beat Stricker 6-3, 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 — 36 total games, under the 39.5 line (ESPN bracket). (Fils def. Stricker 6-3, 6-2, 3-6, 6-4 (36 games))
