Collin Morikawa to win Masters
“[52:54] I like Collin Morikawa.
[52:56] And that number is getting shorter.
[52:57] I see it here.
[52:57] I think it's plus 1,400 on the screen here.
[53:00] And that might shake or rock right back up to plus 1,600, maybe even plus 1,800.
[53:03] I like Morikawa and Xander.
[53:06] And I'll make the case for Collin Morikawa in the following, with the following.
[53:10] This guy has this narrative that he can't close.
[53:12] I mean, let's remember, he's not exactly like an old timer in his PGA career.
[53:16] He has closed before.
[53:17] He just hasn't closed recently.
[53:18] And famously at the API, you know, he didn't close against, of all people, Russell Henley.
[53:22] I mean, Russell Henley chipped in.
[53:24] And if he misses that chip, it probably goes, I don't know, 10, 15 feet past the hole and
[53:28] Collin Morikawa wins and all of a sudden he's a winner.”
Rory McIlroy won the 2025 Masters in a playoff over Justin Rose; Collin Morikawa finished T14 at -3 (285), so the win futures bet lost (ESPN leaderboard). (Morikawa: T14, -3 (285))
Xander Schauffele to win Masters (+2000)
“[54:08] As far as Xander is concerned, approach play looked really good last week.
[54:12] The putter, the short game, the off the tee game hasn't been there.
[54:15] But we know he's coming back from an injury.
[54:16] And at this point, the number is so long that I think people have really kind of leaned into the fact that Xander's game just absolutely can't be there by the time we tee off on Thursday.
[54:27] I actually disagree.
[54:28] I think we've seen enough signs.
[54:29] I think he's had enough time, and I think he's played enough tournaments.
[54:32] And, oh, by the way, he can close.
[54:33] So at 20-1, I'm going to take Xander Shoffler.”
Rory McIlroy won the 2025 Masters; Xander Schauffele finished T8 at -5 (283), so the win futures bet lost (ESPN leaderboard). (Schauffele: T8, -5 (283))
Lucas Glover top 40 (-110)
“[54:43] Yeah, I like Lucas Glover and J.J.”
Lucas Glover made the cut and finished T52 at +7 (295) in the 2025 Masters, well outside the top 40 (ESPN leaderboard). (Glover: T52, +7 (295))
J.J. Spaun top 40 (-110)
“[54:36] What about some longer shot guys that you would look at?
[54:39] Maybe like a top 40 that you're getting a nice plus money price on.
[54:43] Yeah, I like Lucas Glover and J.J. Spahn.
[54:46] I mean, it's so interesting.
[54:47] Bet MGM, who has some really good odds here,
[54:50] on the top 40 market for both of those guys at minus 110.
[54:52] But if you want to do the top 30, top 20 market,
[54:55] you get really good plus numbers on those guys.
[54:57] these two have pretty good augusta experience J.J. Spauns only played once but he played really well
[55:04] believe gained across all metrics and lucas glover has good experience here too and we know what these
[55:08] guys have to offer they're really good ball strikers good with the long iron play particularly
[55:12] J.J. Spaun can be a little shaky with the short game but overall pretty good relative to the field
[55:17] i think in any top 40 top 30 top 20 market guys like lucas glover J.J. Spaun maybe guys like patrick
[55:24] read all should be in the conversation at nice plus numbers this is you better you bet family”
J.J. Spaun finished T50 at +7 (295) in the 2025 Masters, outside the top 40 (ESPN leaderboard). (Spaun: T50, +7 (295))
Collin Morikawa first-round leader (+2800)
“[55:43] the first round leader because i like a thursday sweat and these are tickets that can cash hopefully
[55:47] on thursday sometimes it dips into friday but hopefully thursday evening we can cash these
[55:52] tickets how are you handicapping the first round leader market which will be decided as early as
[55:57] thursday evening yeah i mean i love the first round leader market because of what exactly what
[56:01] you just said femi and this is one of those things you don't have to like you know these are sprinkle
[56:05] plays for the most part and i don't want to tell people how to bet but you're not putting full
[56:09] units or even half units on any of these guys but i like these guys they're going out relatively
[56:14] early i think the conditions just normally are usually better in the morning but particularly
[56:18] on thursday it's going to be nice all day but i like the morning conditions better colin morocco
[56:22] going right back to him he's had really good first rounds this year i mean he's really had
[56:25] good second and third and fourth rounds too but i i just really love the form i like what he's done
[56:30] at the masters before and so i think this is a guy that knows the course really well it's a
[56:34] relatively short number at around 28 to one but i do like it zalatoris and minwoo lee are two
[56:40] two other guys i'll just mention jaeger as a complete long shot because i like where the game
[56:44] is at right now but as far as zalatoris and minwoo lee at 45 to one different type of styles right
[56:50] Minmuli doesn't really get it done with approach, but really gets it done off the tee and with the putter, which actually could play well, particularly on Thursday, because there's not going to be a lot of trouble out there.
[56:59] And I think Minmuli can just bomb it and be decent enough on approach to maybe grab a first round lead.
[57:04] As far as Zalatoris is concerned, I think people are down on Zalatoris.
[57:07] I don't expect him to win this tournament, but he's got a really good Masters track record.
[57:11] And if you look at the strokes game metrics over the last few tournaments, talking the API, the players, and I believe the Valspar, those are the last three that he played.
[57:17] finishing positions not great but the metrics look really good and he knows this course really well
[57:22] I think he can pop in round one uh last year in round one he was fine the year before that as well
[57:27] so give me Zalatoris at 45 to one see we got about three minutes left uh when it comes to golf betting”
Justin Rose shot a first-round 65 (-7) to lead the 2025 Masters after round one; Collin Morikawa did not lead (ESPN). (Round 1 leader: Justin Rose, 65 (-7))
Will Zalatoris first-round leader (+4500)
