“It was my very first total play of the year, and I bought it back in, I think, March, which was under eight and a half, under nine is what I bought it back then. I am not a believer in what's about to happen this season.”

“How about you? Favorite ACC win totals? Yeah, I think we're doing the listeners some justice here because we've got almost every team encompassed here with some sort of total. I'm saying BC under six and a half. There are six and a half out there. Shop port and get it because I think six would be a push. That's tough sledding for them with the back end of that schedule. Florida State over all the way.”
“If you get extra $10 and you don't get guacamole on your Chipotle, maybe you want to think about that. Anyways, Florida State over their win total. Pitt over their win total.”

So you guys took both the ones I was going to go with. So let's just roll with Colin's pick to win it all. Texas future? Three to one. Trustin, Volantis, Hookham. So that's our plant the flag college world series segment presented by DraftKings. The crown is yours. We have Texas in game one, Texas to win it all, and Ole Miss, North Carolina, over eight and a half runs in game one.”

“I love Missouri. their defense actually has what it takes to put a little bit of a cork into this major high energy flowing Texas A&M offense. Missouri's defense can get it done from a defensive line standpoint. I think what's more impressive is that Missouri's secondary is fourth in the nation in creating contested catches, fourth in the nation in broken tackles allowed. So what does that mean? Mario Craver, Casey Concepcion are going to get the ball like they always do, but they're not going to have any extra yards and they're not going to be able to shake off tackles because missouri is one of the best at doing that it it really is a great matchup in which the numbers should be four but the backup quarterback has inflated this out to seven”

“Now, I do think Penn State's going to cover. This line is completely inflated because of all these 50 burgers. Penn State has actually got a running game, which Indiana is only like 35th in defensive line yards. Like, if you've been blowing everybody out by 50, why is your rush numbers on defense not that great? I think Penn State actually has a chance to cover this 14.5.”
IND 27, PSU 24 — Indiana beat Penn State 27-24; Penn State lost by only 3, covering the +14.5 spread (ESPN).

“Ohio State's like the least talked about number one ranked team that we've had in quite some time. I don't know if because all their games are blowouts or they're just out of sight, out of mind with not many marquee matchups this year, but they're laying 25 and a half in Madison against Wisconsin. Total's 41 and a half. How are you looking to bet that game with the number one ranked team in the nation? You're just baiting me here. I don't want to take Wisconsin. I make the number 22, and this number keeps falling and falling. I'm like, I understand it. If you're a math guy that looks and just spreads and says, I have to play it, that's why you play. But what are you betting here, right? I mean, Wisconsin got blanked by Iowa. Hunter Simmons went 8 of 21 passing. He tried to throw to 11 to retarget. There is no identity to this Wisconsin offense whatsoever. So I don't even know how you play this unless it's an under or a first half under, and maybe Ohio State is like, Luke Fickle, we still love you. Maybe you'll get fired. You can be an analyst for us through the playoff. But I think an under is the only way to play this.”

“south carolina looks to be the betting side at home against oklahoma oh you a four and a half point road favorite 43 and a half the total south carolina has absolutely no way to protect themselves or protect their quarterback from what oh you is which they are maniacs on defense number one number two and every analytical thing john mater says that he's clean and he's clear and he can throw a ball again we'll find out under's probably a better play but i bet oh you”

“[14:12] James, I had James Madison 12-1 earlier this week [14:16] to make the college football playoff. [14:17] If you look at their remaining schedule, [14:19] they are a double-digit fave. [14:20] By the way, they've scored 133 points the last two weeks. [14:23] One of those was against North Carolina. [14:25] They put a 70 spot up. [14:26] James Madison will be double-digit favorites, [14:30] and I think every single game from here on out, [14:32] I think one of them, they're like an eight-point favorite, [14:34] but it is such a soft cruising schedule. [14:36] You just need Bob Chesney, the new head coach from Holy Cross. [14:39] You just need them to not have a moment where they realize [14:42] they're in position to make the playoff, and they will go undefeated, [14:46] and they need the Mountain West to beat up on each other. [14:47] They need you and LV and Boise to beat up on each other, [14:49] but right now, the play is James Madison to make the playoff.”

“We're gonna take UNC on the money line over There's some injury information starting to leak out with Minnesota. Specifically, their running back Darius Taylor might not be available. What is Minnesota's offense? Running the ball, like, 70% of the time like a service academy. So, you know, what that's gonna do, their injuries are gonna put their new quarterback, New Hampshire's Max Brozmer, under the spotlight to try and do everything. If you go and break down his numbers at New Hampshire, yes, I did, only ten four years at New Hampshire, only 10% of his passes go beyond 20 yards. He is a dink and dunk quarterback in a Minnesota offense that has no explosiveness whatsoever with a brand new defensive coordinator. And on the other side of the ball, got a Marian Hampton. You guys, Simon, Chad, you guys will be talking about him in the NFL often. He is that good. So I love North Carolina opening night Thursday night.”
19-17 — North Carolina beat Minnesota 19-17 on Aug 29, 2024 on a last-minute field goal, so the UNC moneyline wins (ESPN box score).

UCF was not among the 12 teams selected for the 2024 College Football Playoff (ESPN playoff bracket).
“[1:15:01] As far as Heisman Trophy goes, I keep murmuring out Zachariah Branch from USC. [1:15:05] If they can overcome a six-and-a-half win season, get to nine wins, and really show off in the Big Ten [1:15:10] and some of these time slots that they've got, Zachariah Branch's name is going to be out there. [1:15:14] And no one's talking about him because he's not a quarterback. [1:15:16] So you need some value. [1:15:17] That's definitely one.”
Colorado's Travis Hunter won the 2024 Heisman Trophy, not Zachariah Branch (NCAA.com).
“actually I took a future out. I just said this on our action, on our BBOC podcast, we just recorded and I'll say it here. I'll echo it here. You want to pay attention to who's in bracket one and bracket two. Bracket two is absolutely where you'd want to get a future because it's going to be a little bit more wild. Tennessee is on bracket one. North Carolina is on bracket one. I think that's a head-on collision that's going to happen. If you had to place a long shot future, which there is a website that is offering these, I took Florida in the final to beat North Carolina at 125 to one. Now, I'm not running around saying, you know, kill your kid's college fund for that. It's like a $25 bet, okay? But if I had to make the bracket out now, I do think Texas A&M is clearly the favorite in bracket too.”
6-5 — The 2024 CWS final was Tennessee vs Texas A&M — Tennessee won the deciding game 6-5 to take the title; Florida never faced North Carolina in a final (ESPN).
“They are loaded. And Clemson, I mean, the number should be minus 225. But really, I'm taking a Florida plus 150 here because that second game is Jack Caglione, who is Shohei Otani of college baseball. He's going to be pitching, but when he hits, he's going up against freshman Aiden Canuck. He's been the best pitcher for Clemson all year, but you're going to put a freshman pitcher up against the Shohei Otani of college baseball? I think Florida has an absolutely huge barking chance here.”
11-10 — Florida swept the Clemson super regional 2-0, winning game 2 11-10 in 13 innings on a walk-off (ESPN).
“Are you betting the Beavs coming up? Yeah, I am. I've already bet them. I hit them a couple times. There is some plus money out there. I would take it up to minus 125. and so a lot of people might have like a question about how do you calculate these series and it's a best two out of three format with two teams so what you do is you say give me game a i'm sorry game one two and three and give me the possible scenarios win loss win loss win like that okay so when you do that i have oregon state favorite in all three games in their pitching matchups i have aiden may minus 125 i have jacob kmatz minus 125 eric sagara minus 110 when you put those three together, that gives you a series price of Oregon State minus 125. It's plus 110. I saw a plus 120 in the market. Kentucky does not hit enough. Oregon State is a full one and a half run better from calculated base runs and runs per game. Their offense is better. They're right there in bullpen. And Kentucky is a keep the score close, keep the score low, let the bullpen handle it. It's just not going to work here. You have to have huge pop in your bat to advance from here on out. And”
3-2 — Kentucky swept Oregon State 2-0 in the Lexington super regional, winning the clincher 3-2 (Kentucky Athletics).
“But we didn't need all these teams to figure out who the national title is. And as far as Georgia goes, the new format is the reason I fired on a 5-1. The night that I walked out of Michigan winning the national title in Houston, I walked out of there and I was like, I'm betting Georgia that they're too deep. name the quarterbacks in college football this season.”
34-23 — Ohio State beat Notre Dame 34-23 to win the CFP national championship; Georgia did not reach the game (ESPN).
“people feel like ECU or Wake Forest, both of them very close to even money. How about this one? Yeah, this one is really close. You know, you have Wake Forest and East Carolina, which really only two teams to talk about here. That's just going to be absolutely electric when you think about Chase Burns taking on Trey Savage in this second game that'll probably be on Saturday. Those two match up against each other. They're minus 110. So that is ECU's best pitcher, minus 110. But when you look at all the other pitchers that ECU has and you go up against Wake Forest, there's actually a case to be made that Ethan Norby for ECU would be favored over David Falco and Josh Hartle of Wake Forest. I mean, the real line here should not be Wake Forest, minus 150, minus 170 in the market. It literally should be a coin flip minus 110 for both East Carolina and for Wake Forest. For that reason, I took East Carolina plus 160. And if that game, Chase Bernders versus Trey Savage, when Wake takes on ECU on Saturday, if that's listed at minus 110 like I projected, I can turn around and hit Wake Forest. So I think this is a regional where you take the home team and you look for your head spot on Saturday against the Demon Deacons.”
East Carolina was eliminated by Evansville in the 2024 Greenville Regional, finishing 3-2 in the tournament. (Greenville Regional: East Carolina eliminated by Evansville)
“You mentioned Duke earlier, Colin. They're the two seed in the Norman Regional. Oklahoma's going to be the host. You got Connecticut there along with Oral Roberts, who made that Cinderella run last year. What do you think of this Norman Region? Yeah, I took Duke minus 110. It doesn't matter what pitcher you throw out there for Duke. I know we mentioned Jonathan Santucci coming back from injury here. There's Ryan Higgins, Andrew Healy, Kyle Johnson. You can put them up against any pitcher on OU staff, even Braden Davis, their star. And it's going to be Duke with a heavy win probability of minus 130 up through minus 230, depending on the pitching matchup. So for that reason, Duke is the favorite here or Duke is kind of on the line of minus 110. That's correct. And I would scoop that up that is a number that i have with the blue devils winning that regional all the way up to minus 130 so like i said if you're with outside 20 cents which we are here i would take duke up to about minus 115 before i'd stop betting them yeah and i was asked colin in the break i go like”
UConn (not Duke) won the 2024 Norman Regional, beating No. 9 Oklahoma 7-1 in the final to advance to face Florida State in the Super Regional. (Norman Regional winner: UConn)
“tally at tallahassee region excuse me but florida state alabama like your two most likely winners here. Is it going to be Florida State against Duke? And if it's not, maybe just how would you have that super playing out depending on who wins to face Duke? Well, I have Florida minus 130 in their regional, you know, Alabama being the team that they're going to have to contend with. UCF really defrosted that someone took them out of the, someone put them in the freezer. They're frozen. I don't know what's happened to their season, but they've really fallen off. So Alabama is really all you have to worry about. And no matter if it's Jamie Arnold, the Florida State uh anchor a stud or it's Carson Dorsey their second guy they will be minus 160 to minus 240 as a favorite over any Alabama pitcher so go get your Florida State money down after that I I have futures on Duke and Oklahoma so I'm kind of happy they're playing each other because at least I'll have one at the end of the weekend but I have no money on Florida State so today I was faced with like trying to find the best FSU future out there whether it's to make Omaha I found a 20 to 1 out there that I decided to lay into and just buy it to cover up my Duke OU, but Florida State has an easier path. I wouldn't say the easiest path. I don't want to offend Alabama people, but they have an easier path than most. The number is wrong, and if you don't want minus 130 for this regional and you have money on Duke and Oklahoma, go find a Florida State to win it all or a Florida State to make it to Omaha, because if you have Duke and OU money, they're in serious jeopardy against the Seminoles next week. Colin, another big favorite in the Fayetteville Regional, Arkansas's”
Florida State advanced to the 2024 College World Series in Omaha as the No. 8 national seed. (Florida State reached the 2024 CWS)
“Yeah, for me, this, you know, to me, it all comes down to price point. And right now, you know, Virginia should be about minus 130 in their home regional and they're not. They're plus 100 in the market. And so it's hard to, you know, you don't want to bet against what you just saw. And what you saw was a hot Mississippi State team. You know, Cal Steven, Durangelo, Sijnice. He's got two J's in his last name. I'll keep working on that. Yeah, but, you know, I mean, Mississippi State has been really hot of late. They look good in SEC play, but the overall numbers from the season, 114th in homers per game, 142nd in slugging. Those are not the numbers you want to take to Desharoon Park to play Virginia, which has the highest park factors of any home regional this weekend. I know Oklahoma State's region, Stillwater, should put up some runs, but Virginia, from a statistics standpoint, from runs per game, from park factors, there's going to be a lot of runs here. and Mississippi State and St. John's really struggle in scoring and slugging and homers per nine. So I took Virginia plus 100 here. When Evan Blanco is on the mound, he's going to be favored over Steven and Cisnente. So when he's favored, that's a way to hedge. But Virginia plus 100 is the play.”
Virginia won the 2024 Charlottesville Regional as the No. 1 national seed. (Charlottesville Regional winner: Virginia)
“Well, let's get this bet out of the way, because there's not going to be lines posted until Friday. The Antelopes of Grand Canyon, which I toured their campus like two weeks ago. It's beautiful. They should be minus 120 favorites over Arizona in the opening game against Jackson Kent. That's not what the number is going to be. I'm sure it'll be Arizona minus 150 to minus 200. Grand Canyon's ace is better than Arizona's ace. And that is just how wild this entire region is going to be. At the end of it, I took Dallas Baptist plus 140. Now, there was a book that had plus 280 out there last night. hit it, hit it at 240, hit it at 180. So we're down to about 170. So I would say the last place I would buy Dallas Baptist is plus 140. And really this comes down to what I talked about earlier. They have a pitching stud, Ryan Johnson, that is better than anybody else in this region. He's going to have, he'd be a huge favorite against all the rest of the teams, even their backup, James Elwanger, their second pitcher. He's going to be minus 130 to minus 230 against any of these teams pitchers, no matter who you name off. So even against Clark Candiotti of Arizona or Jackson Kent, like I said before. So true odds say that Dallas Baptist should actually be about a minus 130 favorite in this region. I'll take them at plus money, but this is going to be a wild one.”
West Virginia (not Dallas Baptist) won the 2024 Tucson Regional at 3-0, beating Dallas Baptist 4-1 in their head-to-head game. (Tucson Regional winner: West Virginia (beat Dallas Baptist 4-1))
“north carolina or lsu whoever wins the chapel hill regional like maybe gets like a nice break of who they get to play in the next round i mean you could say wofford or liu brooklyn i don't think you're going to maybe you will but is it unc or lsu for you and which one is it pre-regional it's lsu plus 105 i would take that to minus 110 so i did an exercise very early this morning where i took all of UNC's pitcher, Jason DeCaro, Shea Sprague, and I went against LSU's pitchers, Luke Holman, Gage Jump, everybody that's on that staff that was on the national championship team last year. And believe it or not, every single pitching combination was minus 100 to minus 120. I couldn't find one outlier where there was a big dog or there was a big favorite. So the series price here should be minus 110, both for LSU and for North Carolina with no shot whatsoever for the other two teams, especially Long Island. And I think, you know, when once you get down to it, you're going to get a head to head pitching matchup on Saturday where the Lions going to be minus one 10. So I took LSU plus one Oh five. If I'm not feeling good with that, I've got a chance to get out of it. But this is a true coin flip game. People keep disrespecting North Carolina. They had the ACC wrapped up before the last weekend even came around. I hate to doubt them, but if LSU is plus money, you take them. If North Carolina ends up being plus 110. You take them before the regional starts. Colin, other side of the bracket,”
North Carolina (not LSU) won the 2024 Chapel Hill Regional. (Chapel Hill Regional winner: North Carolina)
“we got the two seed Kentucky hosting their region in Lexington, Indiana States, the two seed. They were really good last season. Illinois out of the big 10 is the three and then Western Michigan. You see any team giving Kentucky trouble potentially in the Lexington region? Yeah, Indiana State. I do like Indiana State in this spot. I bought them this morning plus 275. I think that's got a lot of room to run. Indiana State should be about minus 140 in their opening game against Illinois. And assuming they get past the Fighting Illini, they will be a small underdog to Kentucky here. But their pitching staff matches up really well with Trey Poozer, Dominic Neiman, Mason Moore, all the pitchers that Kentucky has. And, you know, if you look on paper, there's Indiana State's not too far behind RPI, road RPI. They have better slugging. They have better hitting in general. I know the conference they played in tends to that, but at the same time, Kentucky averages eight runs per game. It's not the best out there, but the number is just way too much. Indiana State should be more, you know, more down plus 130. I mean, plus 275 is way too much. I would take it all the way down to plus 200.”
Kentucky (not Indiana State) swept the 2024 Lexington Regional 3-0. (Lexington Regional winner: Kentucky)
“Colin, what about NC State and the Raleigh region? They're the number one seed, South Carolina the two, JMU the three, Bryant the four. What do you like in the Raleigh? Poly region. I did take South Carolina minus 110 to win this region. They are a marginal favorite over NC State. Roman Kimball, Dylan Eskew, Eli Jones, all of them project minus 135 or higher against all of NC State's staff. That was enough for me to take the two seat here.”
South Carolina went 1-2 and was eliminated from the 2024 Raleigh Regional, losing to NC State 6-4 and then to James Madison 0-2. (Raleigh Regional: South Carolina eliminated (1-2))
“Cross match for them is Georgia. Is it as simple as the Bulldogs advance to the Super Regional, Colin, or are we doing something else? It is. We're taking them. Blindly, we're taking them. I can't make a case for Wilmington, and they've already beaten Georgia Tech this year. Georgia Tech's the only one that's got any kind of offensive firepower, but no, no one can hold up to what Georgia is doing at the plate and on the mound today.”
Georgia won the 2024 Athens Regional as the No. 1 seed, beating Georgia Tech 8-6. (Athens Regional winner: Georgia)
“Super duper duper lightning round. I'll do the last three here. Stillwater, give me the winner of the region or your favorite bet in like five seconds. Florida, just degenerate. There's nothing analytically. Florida is a terrible pitching staff, but they crack a ton of home runs and Oklahoma's wind blows 40 miles an hour. So I'm just degenerately betting Florida.”
Florida went 4-1 to win the 2024 Stillwater Regional, coming back through the losers' bracket to beat host Oklahoma State twice. (Stillwater Regional winner: Florida (4-1))
“And then this one looks totally nuts to me. The UC Santa Barbara region where I feel like I can make a case for every team in 5-10 seconds who wins this region. I took UC Santa Barbara. San Diego Toreros are really good. I love them. That's a scary part. If you're going to play UC Santa Barbara hedge with San Diego, we did it. Went through them all. You're the best”
No. 3 seed Oregon eliminated No. 14 UC Santa Barbara to win the 2024 Santa Barbara Regional and advance to the Super Regional against Texas A&M. (Santa Barbara Regional winner: Oregon)
“But I think the first one I'll throw out is Colorado under five and a half. And I know I wrote this up over at Action Network and I said that this should come with a warning label because for some reason the market's going the other way. There's an appetite for Colorado again, like the second consecutive year. People want to go over on this win total. So you can see it's some of the books. The juice has kind of moved in the way of the over. I projected at 5.1, but Deion Sanders, it's really interesting what they did with the portal. They got stronger in their stars, but they got weaker in their depth. And this schedule is tremendously hard. I don't think they can win a game in November and it's pretty dicey at the front. So like I said, I project them 5.1. If depth is a problem and they go into November with a, I mean, it's a, it's big 12. It's not pack 12. This is a tougher schedule. If they don't have any depth and they have injuries like they had last year, if Shadour takes one shot in the rib cage, you know, Dumzo, that's, that's what they're basing their entire season on. So Colorado under was there.”
Colorado finished the 2024 regular season 9-3, above the 5.5 win total (ESPN schedule/results). (Colorado 2024 regular season: 9-3)
“win total market that's interesting right now. Yeah, it's always fun to be first because you're kind of like putting yourself out there and you're opening yourself up for being made fun of. But I tell you what, at Action Network for six years now, I've turned a major profit on win totals and conference futures. So these days I just fire and don't really care what anybody has to say because the system obviously works. But I think the first one I'll throw out is Colorado under five and a half. And I know I wrote this up over at Action Network and I said that this should come with a warning label because for some reason the market's going the other way. There's an appetite for Colorado again, like the second consecutive year. People want to go over on this win total. So you can see it's some of the books. So Colorado under was there. I know from a power five perspective, Arizona state under four and a half, this team, huge question mark jayden rashada leaving them after spring camp going to be a backup at georgia uh you know sam levitt's going to be the quarterback there but there's just not enough talent for arizona state to make this move up to big 12 either and then finally the one that i really love even though i only project them at 7.7 uh caesars and will hill do do have oklahoma over seven it's seven half out there some places so i try to get plus money on that but oklahoma is off season they got danny stutzman coming back and when brent venables has a middle linebacker that can call his defense, whether it's been Clemson or here at Oklahoma. They have been elite, and they went and got a great defensive lineman in the portal who's going to be playing with them. Their defense is going to be great. It is ready to play SEC ball. The questions about Oklahoma really come down to Jackson Arnold, but they went out and got him one of the most elite wide receivers through the portal. I think the transition from Dylan Gabriel to Jackson Arnold isn't even going to be noticeable. I mean, Dylan Gabriel made a lot of mistakes. They see the highlights, but he made a lot of mistakes at UCF. He made a lot of mistakes at Oklahoma, and Jackson Arnold did the same thing in the bowl game. I don't think we're going to see a drop off at all. Colin, when you're handicapping these college football win totals,”

[9:51] They're minus 5,000 to minus 2,000. [9:54] It's some pretty big numbers. [9:56] I'm going to put them together for $100 wager to make $30.”

40-14 — Texas beat Kansas 40-14 on 9/30/2023; Texas -16 covers the spread (ESPN box score).
“I mean, this week I made a bet on the national title, and it was Texas. and I already have plenty of investment on them to win the Big 12, and I'm not going to worry about that until the first weekend in December. But let's look at this. I wasn't sure if they could go into Alabama and win that game, but now that they have, you've gotten the biggest hurdle on your entire schedule out of the way. You're only, I think, 11-1 out there that can go right now.”
34-13 — Michigan beat Washington 34-13 in the 2023-24 CFP National Championship on Jan 8, 2024; Texas did not play in or win the title game, so this futures bet lost (ESPN).

“I saw Texas plus one fifty to win the big twelve. I immediately got in my car and drove to an adjacent state to throw some dimes down because that number was stupid.”

45-24 — Florida State beat LSU 45-24; Florida State Seminoles +2.5 won outright by 21, covers (ESPN final).
“You get points for where you fall in these ballots. And when I say 97% of experts and editors pick this as the number one picture, Chris, I couldn't find anybody that put it lower than two. The people that didn't pick this as the number one film picked it as number two. So to me, this is the cheapest buy on the board. Minus 700, please. It's an easy buy.”

“[10:00] And I don't think it's going to steam either. Maybe because the weekend of the Oscars, Spielberg gets the pub because of his name and all of that in the category. But I would just say this is a small bet. Spielberg to three to one. That's the price point. [10:13] All right. Best actress. The nominees are Michelle Yeoh from Everything Everywhere All at Once is the favorite. Minus 125. Got Cate Blanchett from Tar at minus 115. So they're kind of co-favorites here, at least on FanDuel. [10:29] And then Andrea Riseborough from Two Wesley, Michelle Williams from The Fablemans, and Anna DeArmas from Blonde are all 25 to one or greater.”
Official Academy Awards results confirm that Michelle Yeoh to win Best Actress settled won as recorded.
“[16:58] to minus 125. I have been limited. This is my biggest wager of the entire podcast, [17:07] is Austin Butler to win Best Actor for Elvis. I will keep pounding this till it's minus 125. [17:12] Yeah this is one of my favorite bets on the board as well with Austin Butler He is plus 120 at FanDuel And I agree He should be the favorite He won be on Sunday He won be He should be the favorite He won the Golden Globe and the BAFTA Fraser did get the critics choice and the SAG But again you look at Gold Derby and they you know”

To me, that's a minus [31:51] 117 condon 38 that's a plus 165 so at plus 200 i'm betting condon i'm betting it down to plus [32:00] 160 that's going to be my pick for best supporting actors so i actually like i i went back and forth”
Official Academy Awards results confirm that Kerry Condon to win Best Supporting Actress settled lost as recorded.
“[44:47] That is an absolute winner right there, and it's not being priced accordingly. [44:51] So for me, Austin Butler, Best Actor, Best Sound, minus 800 for Top Gun. [44:57] It's not being priced correctly.”
Official Academy Awards results confirm that Top Gun: Maverick to win Best Sound settled won as recorded.
“changes so i think this ends up being a grinder i think there's some value on the under the market's not properly accounting for how pit is going to play this year colin you got it at 54 and a half yeah that was put in the about two minutes after i was standing next to pat narduzzi outside the Weston and Charlotte of media days, when he told me specifically, we don't want to do anything but run the ball like crazy, and Kedon Slovis is only going to need to throw when he has to throw. Now, knowing that Pitt was a top 10 tempo last year, and Narduzzi now with Frank Signetti coming over from Boston College, he wants to make this a bottom 10 tempo team. You know, I mean, that was a complete under right away, because that number that oddsmakers put out would have been the total at the end of last year with the old coaching staff. So knowing that in the back of my hand, I just turn around, make the bet, put it in.”
Pittsburgh 38, West Virginia 31 — Pittsburgh beat West Virginia 38-31 on Sept 1, 2022; the combined 69 points went over 54.5 (ESPN box score).
“Ohio State, Notre Dame. Everyone is talking about this Ohio State team probably the team people expect from the Big Ten to go to the college football playoff Notre Dame getting a weird amount of respect from voters for the AP rankings 14 and a half Colin, I saw on the app, you took Ohio State, minus 14 and a half. Explain yourself. I don't know what the ceiling of this Ohio State team I definitely know what the ceiling is of the”
Ohio State 21, Notre Dame 10 — No. 2 Ohio State beat No. 5 Notre Dame 21-10 on Sept 3, 2022; Ohio State's 11-point margin fell short of -14.5 (ESPN box score).
“as we've seen from two to three in a long time. Do you agree, Colin? Oh, absolutely. Yeah. Like Ohio State and Alabama are my pick in the national championship game. I have money on Ohio State, but that's only because FanDuel was happy enough to put them out at eight to one for me right after the national championship last year. But I am going to fire on Alabama at some point because that's your national championship game. And I do think the Crimson Tide by then will”
Ohio State lost the Peach Bowl (CFP semifinal) to Georgia 42-41 on Dec 31, 2022, ending Ohio State's national title bid; Georgia went on to win the national championship.
“[6:12] game for both teams because these are two left-handed starters we are projecting Jake Bennett [6:18] He is the left-hander for Oklahoma. [6:20] He is going to go against Hunter Elliott, the left-hander for Ole Miss. [6:23] And I think what's going on with both Ole Miss and Oklahoma is you're going to have to handicap left-handed pitching. [6:31] Left-handed pitching and being a southpaw is the most important thing in this College World Series. [6:35] And we're starting off in game one with two starting pitchers that are both left-handed. [6:39] Now, Jake Bennett should be minus 150 for Oklahoma.”
NCAA's College World Series report records Oklahoma versus Ole Miss above the under line, confirming the wager settled lost as recorded.
“[11:27] Ole Miss has proven that they can hit left-handed pitching, [11:29] which means that they can hit Jake Bennett in game one. [11:32] They'll have no problems with Cade Horton in game two. [11:34] They would have no problems with David Sandlin in game three. [11:38] To me, Ole Miss has been the hottest team since May 25th [11:41] when postseason play started. [11:43] They going to win this I would be shocked if it was in three I wouldn even mind laying a large plus money bet 200 or better two to one odds or better on Ole Miss to sweep the series”
NCAA's College World Series report names Ole Miss champion, confirming the future settled won as recorded.
“talking about uh colin you famously will make a bet as soon as you possibly can on college football futures um while you're in vegas for the college football national title game tell me right now the bets you made as soon as the futures hit the board and you could when you were in vegas we were in vegas during the national championship game and there were multiple six-figure tickets in that booth at the Westgate. And everybody was concentrating on the game in the fourth quarter. And I was already thinking about what team I'm hitting for next year. The second the game was over, I won't name the sports book, but they posted eight to one on Ohio State. I slammed it. Now it's five to one everywhere right now. You can't convince me otherwise that this is an Alabama Ohio State year in the national championship game. They return the guy that won the Heisman Ohio State returns the guy that finished fourth. They have the best weapons outside of the tight ends. And let's not forget that Ohio State now has Jim Knowles as defensive coordinator. You want to know why Oklahoma State was so good? Because they had Jim Knowles. He's got the Midas touch. Everything he turns is gold. Ohio State's biggest problem the last couple of years, they can't play any defense and they get into shootouts with teams. That's not a problem anymore. He's going to come in and clean up what they have two different defensive coordinators last year that a guy take over interim, one guy in the box come down to the field. It's been a mess at Ohio State, but that's not going to be a problem for Ryan Day. Five to one on Ohio State to win the national championship.”
Ohio State lost the CFP semifinal (Peach Bowl) to Georgia 42-41, so it did not win the 2022-season national championship; Georgia beat TCU 65-7 for the title (Wikipedia).
“Well, there was some movement on Clemson. I didn understand it because DJ Uwe Anglele did not look good whatsoever There were some 12 ones out there that got chipped down to 10 to 1 From a Heisman perspective happily there one guy that has not moved And that the guy who I centering on next looking for the best number But I can tell you that Jackson Smith is 50 to one out there And I know my podcast partner over on BBOC, we both salivated over watching this wide receiver from Ohio State dominate the Rose Bowl. This may be the best player in college football. And I think it's important to know it's like this is a quarterback college football playoff award now. but Devonta Smith, you know, happily in the NFL. Now with the Eagles, he's a wide receiver that during a pandemic with an undefeated team that went on to win the national championship, won the award as a wide receiver. Jackson Smith and the Jigba is going to get everything from CJ Stroud. He's going to make a highlight every week. And now he has a defense that's going to get him more possessions. It's going to get more chances for explosive plays. And so I think the floodgates are going to kind of open up on wide receivers a little bit and realizing that with the RPO, it's not always about the quarterback. If you have a weapon like this, they can win the Heisman. So 50 to one, you can count me in on Ohio State's biggest weapon. It's actually 60 to one right now in FanDuel. Go grab it.”
Caleb Williams (USC) won the 2022 Heisman Trophy; Jaxon Smith-Njigba did not win (Wikipedia).
“Well, I've already put a bet. The second win totals were released on the SEC West, I immediately hit Arkansas. Kind of a homer. Let me back it up. Came out at six and a half at plus money. We're going to release our projections here this summer, and you're going to have Arkansas at about 7.9. But really, it's this easy. Arkansas runs the ball.”
Arkansas finished the 2022 regular season 6-6, under the 6.5-win total (ESPN team schedule). (Arkansas 6-6 regular season)
“second thing you look at per, you know, Ben Zosmer in this for Best Actress is age. You want to go under 35. You want to go over 60. That seems to be there's sort of like a dead period in between that. And then Renee Zillweger blew us up by winning at the age of like 52 when nobody had won ever in the history of this award had won between the ages of 50 and 53. So I think the age thing is getting kind of blown out, but it's easy for Hollywood to fall in love with the 19 year old Jennifer Lawrence. And it's easy for them to love like a Helen Mirren up in the, you know, up in the upper ages. So, you know, I, we don't have any of that going on here. Nicole Kidman's 54, Jessica Chastain is 44, Kristen Stewart's 31. It's not really anything. There's not like, you know, the young starlet or the, you know, the older person that needs a lifetime achievement award like we talked about. So, and you know, as far as Kristen Stewart goes, she was not even 80% chance to even be nominated for this award before, and she was left out of the SAGs and BAFTAs. So don't bet on her whatsoever. Now, you know, Jessica Chastain won the Critics' Choice Award, but you know none of this field won the BAFTA I think you know gold derby is looking at Jessica Chastain but if you look at every expert's picks Olivia Colman is second and that means if anybody doesn't like the Tammy Faye and doesn't like Jessica Chastain story and Olivia and Olivia Colman is second place on everybody's ballot she's gonna get this I completely agree with Ryan it may be because of all second place votes but I'm buying five to one on Olivia Colman”

“But I'm going to have a 4-1 ticket on Don't Look Up because I'm going to follow the Writers Guild winner, winning original screenplay. So give me Don't Look Up.”

“getting. Yeah, let me tag onto that, because I think there's a really important note to make here, and yes, the older actors usually win this, but last year, Daniel Kaluuya, I mean, Judas and the Black Messiah, there just was no competition, and that's why his odds were closed minus 2,500, and it wasn't even a question. And so let's go back to the drawing board here. The older actor usually wins. Now, the Cody Smith McPhee, I went back and watched Power of the Dog. I'm not going to give away his character. Maybe you haven't seen it and you'll watch it leading up. I'm not going to give away what he starts as, what he ends as, and how his transformation occurs during the movie. But what I did take note of the second time that I watched through it was how many of his scenes are powerful that included Benedict Cumberbatch? How many of them did he carry on his own shoulders? he didn't carry a lot of scenes on his own shoulders. He was in scenes with Benedict Cumberbatch. He is not the MVP of this movie. He was simply in the room when big things happened and he was not the driver. All right. This whole power of the dog, it was driven by Benedict Cumberbatch. He's the reason why this story is so powerful. So once I watch Coda, it reminds me, the second I watched the movie and I'm not going to blow the movie for anybody, but But I will say this. Everybody knows Good Will Hunting. Everybody knows that Robin Williams won Best Supporting Actor. Why did he win Best Supporting Actor? Because there was a pretty good field with him that year. But there's a scene at the very end, and I'm definitely not spoiling anything for a movie that's at least 25 years old. But he gets in Matt Damon's face and he says, it's not your fault. And he's referring to the child abuse that he went through with what is an orphan with his foster parents. And he just kept saying, it's not your fault. It's not your fault. And he just broke them down. And boom, that is an Academy Award winning performance. You only needed that one scene to win that award. That happens in COTA. When, you know, when Troy Coatser is in the movie, he goes to his daughter's performance. Yeah, the school is putting on a whole choir event. And he goes to that. And him and his wife are just kind of, you know, just kind of around. They're like, are we having spaghetti tonight? What's going on? Like, they can't hear the concert. They can't hear their daughter singing. But in the middle of this movie, where sound is so important, everything shuts off. And all of a sudden, you are in his eyes. You are in his eyes. body, you are in his ears and he's looking around the room and he sees grandmothers crying. He sees grandfathers clapping. He sees kids smiling. He sees people dancing and he sees his daughter on the stage. And to me, it was one of the most powerful things I've seen in any of the movies I've seen this year. I see why Code has taken so much steam when you can take the entire movie and throw it into one of your character's eyes and he can play that off. And at that point right there, he was bound and determined that his daughter has to go down this path, right? I thought it was a monster scene. Now, whether you want to give credit to the director or you want to give credit to sound, you couldn't have pulled it off unless you had this guy that's been on a boat his entire life, struggling to keep his family together. And you see the world through his eyes and you got to right there. It's an Academy Award winning moment, minus 400. I'll pay it easily. I don't care if it's overtaxed. I don't care. That's the play. And I think that's a great point that you brought up you know is it the directing is it this is why I go away from the”

“We're going to talk about this bowl game. Like I'm going to the Outback Bowl. I've already got my number in on the underdog Arkansas. And I've already got my number in on the money line on them. 25% of what I bet on them full game.”
ARK 24, PSU 10 — Arkansas beat Penn State 24-10 in the 2022 Outback Bowl on Jan 1, 2022; Arkansas won outright on the moneyline (Wikipedia recap of the game).
“and it's Old Dominion plus nine.”
TLSA 30, ODU 17 — Tulsa beat Old Dominion 30-17 in the Myrtle Beach Bowl; Old Dominion lost by 13, busting the +9 spread (ESPN).
“Kansas State outright.”
20-10 — Baylor beat Kansas State 20-10, so the Kansas State moneyline (to win outright) busts (ESPN college football Week 12 scoreboard).
“some point if you lived specifically and jay boy stealing my thunder here i mean he's absolutely on the mark But if you lived simply in a spreadsheet you would want to put Georgia minus 125 get some money down on that That has value up to minus 150 If you look at their list of teams they projected to play and you take all the projected point spreads and you take the projected lines, it's minus 150. So Georgia, you're going to go into the national championship game, we're holding a minus 150 ticket when their spread is going to be higher and it's going to dictate a higher money line. Absolutely. Minus 125 is the play.”
Georgia beat Alabama 33-18 in the CFP National Championship on Jan 10, 2022, so the futures bet on Georgia to win the title cashes (Wikipedia, 2022 CFP National Championship).
“Best future value for making the college football playoff right now. [11:36] Oklahoma.”
The 2021-22 College Football Playoff field was Alabama, Michigan, Georgia, and Cincinnati; Oklahoma was not selected (Wikipedia).
“group of five power five doesn't matter UCLA over seven I compared this in the Pac-12 podcast to like a buffet I keep going back to the buffet and I want to eat this and I want to eat that and I want to eat this and I want to eat that and those two teams are Utah and UCLA and I'll stick with UCLA on the win total because Utah, I think is going to win the Pac-12 South. They host UCLA, but year four for Chip Kelly, we have the highest retention. Now, think about this. UCLA always recruits at an extremely high level with Chip Kelly, and so does Texas A&M, but Texas A&M has like 30% retention rate of all the recruits that they brought in. UCLA has retained 70%. They've completely taken advantage of this super senior rule. Their defense returns everybody, which is kind of a good thing and a bad thing. They couldn't stop the rush, so hopefully that improves a little bit. But Dorian Thompson Robinson can score on any play, on any yard marker. And yes, I know about the turnovers, and I know that he can be volatile at times but what people aren paying attention to this year is they went out Chip Kelly went out and got San Jose State passing game coordinator And he said passing game coordinator from San Jose State Yeah they turned that program around Remember San Jose State was like undefeated and Nick Starkle was dropping bombs on everybody late at night. And people were like, who the hell is San Jose State? Well, the passing game coordinator is now the quarterback's coach for UCLA, Ryan Gunderson, former Royals award nominee. And if he can trim down just some of the mistakes and the inconsistencies that DTR has, UCLA is a major player in this. I think absolutely they're a contender in the South and I'll take over seven any day. UCLA comes up so infrequently when we talk about college football these days.”
UCLA finished the 2021 regular season 8-4 (their Holiday Bowl vs. NC State was canceled due to COVID-19 protocols), clearing the over 7-win total (Wikipedia). (UCLA 2021: 8-4)
“So Notre Dame [21:22] under nine with that schedule, I'll take it all day.”
Notre Dame finished the 2021 season 11-2, including a Fiesta Bowl loss to Oklahoma State, well over the under-9 win total (Wikipedia). (Notre Dame 2021: 11-2)
“So I will point to a team that I think can absolutely win their conference championship. And that North Carolina and Sam Howell What Sam Howell has been able to do since the day that he was a freshman has shown that he NFL ready He has an NFL arm and we going to find out this year because he loses a couple of explosive weapons that are now in the NFL But I don think it going to matter Mack Brown is recruited just fine They're going to put up serious numbers. They're not going to face Clemson until the last game of the year, right before the Heisman voters have to get that ballot submitted. If I had to take a shot outside of Spencer Rattler, it'd be Sam Howell. And that's who I bet for number one pick. I love doing that bet too. Like future bets using the number one pick.”
Travon Walker was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft (Jaguars); Sam Howell was selected in the 7th round (pick 144) by Washington (ESPN).
“spot for Georgia in that, you know, I have a Georgia national title feature that eight to one.”
Georgia won the 2021 college-football national championship (ESPN).
“And then I recently just played Georgia plus 175 to make the college football playoff,”
Georgia made the College Football Playoff in the 2021 season (ESPN).
“And I'm going to go with NC State over six and a half. It's plus 110 to go on the over on these guys. It's a number where I mathematically put it right here, just below 6.5. But the juice is what's got me on this.”
NC State cleared its listed 2021 win-total threshold (ESPN standings).
“For me, I'm going to stick with Miami plus 130 to win the Coastal Division,”
ACC final standings list Pitt ahead of Miami in the Coastal Division, so Miami did not win it.
“I'm gonna go with a team on the under even though mathematically I'm not supposed to I project Oklahoma State at 8.1 the number is seven and a half I'd love it if this number was eight but it's not I'm gonna go under seven and a half on Oklahoma State and the reasons are pretty clear the offense is going in the wrong direction.”
Oklahoma State cleared its listed 2021 win-total threshold (ESPN standings).
“But I'm going to say Iowa State. I mean, I'm going to be – I've said a bunch already. But if you could find like a 40-1 – I mean, I'm higher on Colin. I'm higher on Iowa State than Colin. I wouldn't go under 30-1. I even wouldn't go 30-1. If there's like a 33, 35, but try to find a 40 to one, which is what I got at circa. And I also played minus one 10 to make the big 12 title. You know, so that that number has gone up a little bit. We can find it minus one 10 minus one 20. I'll explain why I'm third down. Or if you just want to take more of a shot. And by the way, we do have somewhat of a natural hedge with TCU over and Iowa State making it. to the Big 12 title. I still think there's a chance that Iowa State, based on my numbers, that can make the Big 12 title and TCU can go over seven and a half. But obviously with them playing at the last game of the year, good chance, you know, worst case scenario, you're splitting those. So how about your favorite future of the Big 12? I would say to add on to that, I completely agree with all your numbers. Very respectable numbers. Those are the Iowa State buy points. I would say to make the Big 12 championship game, you don't want to go past minus 130 because you are going to have to hedge possibly against TCU. And that's probably what the money line in that game is going to be around. So I wouldn't go past minus one 30. Those are very respectable. I'm just going to go for the granddaddy. This is the year Oklahoma's winning the national title. They finally have a defense that is going to be able to hang with the big boys of college football. This is a year in which Clemson fields a first year quarterback. I know DJ has experience. Georgia has JT Daniels, new quarterback in a new situation. CJ Stroud going on for Ohio state, Alabama, I mean there new quarterbacks There new stuff going on with all the power programs Not Oklahoma Hottest team coming out of 2020 Defensive returns almost every single player Besides Ronnie Perkins listen this is the team This is the year It Grinch year It Riley year Oklahoma find it at 8 Don't go any lower than that.”
Oklahoma did not win the 2021 college-football national championship (ESPN).
“For national title, I'm taking Oklahoma. I bought them at 10 to one. It was the first bet I made on the 2021 season. Bet MGM currently has them at eight to one. There is value at eight to one.”
Oklahoma did not win the 2021 college-football national championship (ESPN).
“I was out in Vegas on Memorial weekend, the exact same weekend the college football conferences hit the board. I left my family, hit the hotel room at six o'clock in the morning and immediately went and found a book because Cincinnati was listed at minus 160 to win the AAC. That number has value up to minus 250.”
Cincinnati won the 2021 American Athletic Conference championship (ESPN standings).
“I'm going to go Notre Dame under eight and a half at BetMGM. If you look around, you know, that's a number that I project should go much lower. It was one of the first win totals I put into Action Network app.”
Notre Dame cleared its listed 2021 win-total threshold (ESPN standings).
“I'm going to pivot and go over to Maryland over five and a half. Yes, let's just get this out of the way. I'm taking an over five and a half with Dan Enos as the offensive coordinator”
Maryland cleared its listed 2021 win-total threshold (ESPN standings).
“I'm going to pivot over to Charlotte under five. And I don't like this because we love Will Healy. We don't like fading him. He's one of the coaches we like. They're on the rise. It's a down year for club lit.”
Charlotte finished exactly on its listed 2021 win-total threshold (ESPN standings).
“I'll start off first with Stanford under four. It's at BetMGM at plus 115. plus 115 on under four. And I project you well under four wins.”
Stanford stayed under its listed 2021 win-total threshold (ESPN standings).
“For me, I'm going to go with Kevin Kistner.”
PGA TOUR reports Davis Thompson shot 63 for the first-round lead at the Rocket Mortgage Classic; Kevin Kisner opened with 67.
“here and best supporting actor. I am going to go with Daniel Gluja. The historical analysis here, I mean, is to watch for an older nominee receiving a lifetime award. So there's no one here that applies to that. Paul Racey is in this list. He's 73 years old. His body of work includes waiter at a movie called Renacop, paparazzi in She Wants Me, bad guy in the Bruce Lee story. This is not a guy that wins this award. You know, only one of the 27 experts didn't pick Daniel Kulia for this. He won BAFTA, American Film Institute, Critics' Choice, DFW Film Critics, Golden Globes, National Board of Review, and the SAGs. Where did he lose? He lost in one spot. Daniel Kaluuya did not win in the Washington, D.C. area Film Critics Association, where they went with Leslie Odom Jr., take Daniel Kaluuya here to win this. Easy money to lay. And I don't think he's ever going to make a personal trip himself to the Washington, D.C. area film critics because of that snub.”
The Academy's 2021 winners page lists Daniel Kaluuya as Best Supporting Actor.
“Yeah, I mean, I'm going to go with Yoon here. I've already stated that Minery is my favorite movie of the year, but that's not the reason for the handicap here. Yoon has been winning awards since 1969. She was named Best New Talent at the TBC Drama Awards. She is a staple in the film industry for decades. She's received over 40 nominations in this role as grandma in Minery, and she's had 34 victories. That includes BAFTAs, SAGs, anywhere that she's eligible, right? Because some of these film associations really, we'll get into that later, like Minery was just not allowed to be nominated. So the Critics' Choice Award did take Bakalova, heads up over Yoon. So that shouldn really be a consideration The Critics Choice Award is not really an indication here The one area of concern that I have is that if you get the analysis out of Oscar metrics it says that the higher the billing in the credits the more screen time you have and that is directly correlated to Best Supporting Actress. Yoon was billed as fifth. The rest of the nominees was billed as second. But you know what? The rest of those nominees didn't drink a bowl of piss because they thought it was Mountain Dew and they didn't watch professional wrestling and teach their kids to gambling on card games. This movie, not only is in my hometown, reminds me of my grandma. Her performance, I thought, was spectacular and she will be rewarded.”
The Academy's 2021 winners page lists Yuh-Jung Youn as Best Supporting Actress.
“pecking order for this category is drama, musical, sci-fi. Really, we need to focus on, for me, the dramas. And the dramas here are Mank, who production design was done by Donald Graham Burt. He won this same award for a personal favorite of mine The Curious Case of Benjamin Button Is there a case for Nathan Crowley here in Tenet Because Tenet is a sci movie so that is definitely a strong contender If you look at Nathan Crowley who is in charge for production design for that movie, he's been nominated in the past for First Man, Dunkirk, Interstellar, The Dark Knight, The Prestige, fantastic movie. This is his sixth time, and he's listed at eight to one odds. So if there's somebody that can reach up and get it, It is sci-fi. It falls below the drama category. I think this is Mank all the way. But Crowley's sixth time to be nominated is what caught my eye. Donald Graham Burt, somebody might vote in and say, this dude got it for Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Crowley's on his sixth nomination. So for me, Mank is definitely the play here because it fits the right genre. But Nathan Crowley for Tenet, this is a sixth time. So I think that needs to be taken into account.”
The Academy's 2021 winners page lists Mank as Best Production Design winner.
“Listen. It's all about Minery here. You're well-affared. Yeah, I know. And I don't want to go into things that I've already said on the podcast, and I won't. But I will say this. The movies that continue to show division between race, age, and wealth class and how those barriers come down, I think are the ones in the future that are going to win the most awards. Just say it, Colin. Just say it. Just say it. Minery is this year's Parasite. I'm sorry. just say it minary is absolutely in this award because uh listen it was ineligible for the writers guild and for the globes we can get into the restriction as to why it wasn't it's because i believe for the globes you have to have a certain amount of spoken english versus foreign language in it and because minary is like completely almost all in korean unless they're at the chicken plant chicken sexing and checking out if the chicken's a female or a male like there wasn't a lot of English in this movie. Besides the crazy ass, you know, running with the cross down the street, that actually does happen in Arkansas. Listen, the movie did pull six BAFTA noms. It pulled 10 critics choice. So when Minery has been eligible, it has shown that it has some muscle to flex. So, you know, I think this is a major contender in a lot of categories. It's not getting talked about. Minery may be on the outside looking in for best picture, but I think there should be major steam here. And there's reasons why. Lee Isaac Chung, Crazy enough, I need to check. I think him and I grew up at the exact same time in the exact same city. Directed the film, wrote the film, and that follows in the footsteps of former Best Original Screenplay winners for Moonlight and Almost Famous. Very recent winners of this category where the director was the writer of the content. Oscar Metrics gives a 12% chance to an ineligible Writers Guild entry. That's minory, right? So when I calculate 12%, you guys have to know your odds. You're going to listen to other podcasts and listen to them bullshit about how I think and I feel. Don't listen to that. It's all about number. It's about money. It's about percentages. So Oscar Metrics says a writer's guild ineligible has a 12% chance to beat their peers that were nominated. And the favorite is 67%. Let me translate that, get your calculator out. Minari should be bet down to plus 733 Promising Young Woman is a hit at minus 200 if it happens to fall And that the way I betting this Yeah and I actually in a similar boat”
The Academy's 2021 winners page lists Promising Young Woman, not Minari, as Best Original Screenplay winner.
“yeah I mean a lot of those metrics are what led me to my pick uh which is Andra Day and and you know if you go through the historical analysis it's what got us on Cynthia Erivo 50 to 1 last year that madness that took the number all the way down I think to 12 to 1 maybe 9 to 1 in certain books it got us all pretty excited and then next thing you know I'm looking for my bottle of scotch because I got Renee Zellweger's face up there on top of the stage saying you love me you really love me like just take the award and go all right i want to say thank you to you and i can't deny the fact that you like me right now you'll like me i wanted to catch my ticket pretty bad anyways and i think the reason we were on cynthia revo is because it fit what oscar metric says play a historical character so we have two historical characters playing ma rainey playing billy holiday So for me, those are the only two that you can really consider in this category. The other rule, don't fall between the age of 36 and 60. Yes, Renee Zeltweger is now a data point on a category that's been around since 1929. The percentages still say the Academy loves to award very young ladies or ladies in their 60s, Jessica Tandy, Jennifer Lawrence, right? I mean, that's what we're looking at here. So the rules are don't follow that age range, play historical character that leads us to Viola Davis and Andra Day. Andra Day is the pick here for me. I love Francis McDormand. Ladies and gentlemen, Academy Award winner, Francis McDormand. I mean you darn tootin Fargo is one of the best movies I ever watched You betcha but shittin on your five drone inside your dinged van or taking a full frontal bath in a natural spring in between your shifts at the Amazon warehouse and your potato farms is just not it for me. And the Oscar goes to... Andra Day, six to one, please. Shout out to Andra Day.”
The Academy's 2021 winners page lists Frances McDormand, not Andra Day, as Best Actress winner.
“So with that being said, Promising Young Woman has all three of those categories with a best actress nod to boot. This is my long shot to take down Nomadland. Give me Promising Young Woman. Buy it now because the more people learn about how crazy this film is, I mean, Parasite was nuts. last 15 minutes of Parasite gangbusters bat shit crazy promising young woman bat shit crazy at the end so I I feel like we've hit all the big boys director editing screenplay best actress nod”
The Academy's 2021 winners page lists Nomadland, not Promising Young Woman, as Best Picture winner.
“And a team that I bought immediately to win their division, I would buy them to win the World Series. A team that's gotten way too much hate is the Houston Astros. And right now at FanDuel, they're over 87 and a half. This is a number that I think I may get 90 from a win Pythagorean standpoint. Sean's got them at 89 wins. I think they can win the World Series. I think they're definitely going to win the AL West. uh i mean even davenport they didn't take last year's projections and they have him at 95 wins and you know fangraphs has him as the second best offensive war behind the dodgers and the best overall war in in the al uh you know the dip in their total came because of frambor valdez taking a comeback pitch off of his ring finger but now he's having this miraculous recovery and dusty you know baker's like this is you know it's going to be great he's he's fine no big problem here they signed Jake Odorizzi to be a fifth starter. That's a great fifth starter. He's not great, but he's a great fifth starter. Altuve looks like himself again in spring training. Jordan Alvarez is still growing as a hitter, which is scary for everybody. And their new center fielder that replaced George Springer, Miles Straw, may be the fastest man in MLB. I mean, I was thinking Mondesi was going to run away with the stolen base title, but this Miles Straw kid, if he can get on base is potentially a 40 steel guy. So I love the Astros.”
The Houston Astros went 95-67 and clinched the AL West on September 30, 2021.
“Phillies under 81 and a half all day.”
The Philadelphia Phillies finished 82-80 in 2021, over the 81.5-win total, so the under lost.
“yeah i'll have to pace myself here because i talked about it at length in the action network baseball preview back when we cut that i think january or february but i cannot believe that Teoscar Hernandez came out at 500 to 1 to win the home run i zips has him i think six or seven home runs off of like who they project to have the most home runs it might have been pete alonzo i'm not sure but Teoscar Hernandez is the kind of guy that you absolutely want to look for when it comes to value and the fact that they are ascending in the world of power. And there's a lot of other outside factors that are going on with the Blue Jays, but hey, he is in the penthouse of this lineup. He's batting fourth in between Bo Bichette. He's right above Vladimir Guerrero Jr. He has got just the most perfect spot in the most perfect offensive lineup. And so I've mentioned him so much for like, you know, winning the home run crown, like being an outside MVP candidate if the Blue Jays make a run and win the division, which is completely you know that more of a long shot I would rather take him for home runs But I been rostering him in fantasy baseball for years And the reason is because he always been streaky in power Like you going to get eight home runs in one week and then you'll get nothing for the next week. So he's a great DFS play or a fantasy baseball play. But then in 2019, he got very consistent with his home runs. And last year he hit 16 home runs in less than 50. His ISO went way up. His exit velocity went up two miles per hour. And you It's only two miles per hour. The league average in exit velocity, because they're screwing around with the ball, it went down two miles an hour. So as everybody else had lower exit velocity, his actually ticked up two miles an hour. He's projected about fourth, like I said, tons of lineup protection. And then the one thing that you got to look at is his spray chart. His spray chart is all left field pole, left center. And if you haven't known, the Toronto Blue Jays are playing down in Dunedin, right? Their single A Florida State League ballpark where they do their spring training. Go up and pull up a wind map of how it looks in that town with that ballpark and where the wind blows. It is straight out to left. And I know it was 2019 because that's the last time we had minor league baseball. But if you look at park factors and yes, I'm that big of a dork. If you look at park factors for single A baseball, that was the second highest home run rate for all of the teams that part Dunedin. And so, you know, if their single A team is jacking bombs out of that park, what is Teoscar Hernandez going to do with all that exit velocity? Right. And his spray chart matches the wind perfectly. Sign me up for what was a 500 to one, 300 to one, 200 to one. I think I've seen some 60 to one still out there. I love it. I absolutely love that problem.”
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Salvador Perez shared the 2021 AL home run lead with 48 each; Teoscar Hernandez did not lead the league.
“I'm taking Loyola six and a half. I'm taking a player prop on Ethan Thompson under 17 points.”
ORST 65, LUC 58 — NCAA Tournament results show Oregon State beat Loyola Chicago 65-58, so Loyola failed to cover -6.5.
“I'm taking a player prop on Ethan Thompson under 17 points. He isn't going to the free throw line 16 times again, like he did against Oklahoma state.”
Oregon State's NCAA Tournament box score records Ethan Thompson scoring 22 points, so his under 17 lost. (Ethan Thompson 22 points)
“Yeah, same game, except I'm going to use everything that Randall just said to play into the under, under 146 here.”
UCLA 88, ALA 78 — NCAA Tournament results show UCLA beat Alabama 88-78 in overtime, a 166-point game that went over 146.
“I took Florida state minus 10 and a half.”
FSU 64, UNCG 54 — NCAA Tournament results show Florida State beat UNC Greensboro 64-54, so Florida State failed to cover -10.5.
“I can only throw in a couple of notes. I mean, I took it money line. And I will say that from a market perspective, it's not going to go any higher. It doesn't matter. No matter if Virginia says everybody's fully healthy, that's not going to shoot the lineup. It's a projection. It's at seven and it should have been there in the first place. I don't know what that opener was from the odds makers, but it should have been seven. Now, depending on who Virginia is not going to be playing, it should go down even farther. I mean, this is a line that could close at four. And there is going to be a monster amount of money come in on Ohio. And, you know, if Virginia compounds that with whoever it is, it's not going to play for them.”
OHIO 62, UVA 58 — NCAA Tournament results show Ohio beat Virginia 62-58, so Ohio's moneyline won.
“Absolutely going with UC Santa Barbara, Gauchos, everything that we said before.”
CREI 63, UCSB 62 — NCAA Tournament results show Creighton beat UC Santa Barbara 63-62, so UC Santa Barbara's moneyline lost.
“Give me Arkansas minus eight and a half against Colgate.”
ARK 85, COLG 68 — NCAA Tournament results show Arkansas beat Colgate 85-68, so Arkansas covered -8.5.
“Yeah, I'm going to go completely other side of the bracket from you guys. I'm going to do Toledo. I think the price is right down to plus one 60. So you'll want to do your shopping there because look at the just look at who they're going to face. Right. So Ball State beat them earlier this season, but Toledo just drummed them by 19 points on Friday. So this opening spread should be around minus eight for the for the first game. And then when you get into Kent State in Ohio, it should be anywhere from five to seven points. So when you get a Toledo future at plus one 60, plus one 80 that I've seen out there, pretty much you can ride that sweat free all the way into the championship game where you can do some hedging.”
2021 conference-tournament records show Ohio won the MAC tournament, not Toledo.
“I'm going to go with a team I've been on before it's going to be we're going to look at the anteaters going up against Beach let's get it under here under 142 and a half is what's currently at the book as we are recording this podcast and people would say hey Beach they're 17th tempo on the season. They like to run really fast, but they're also one of the worst shooting teams in the nation. They're dead last in their conference and turnover percentage on offensive ball security is terrible. They're almost second to last in offensive rebounds. Oh, and by the way, they're number one in the conference and getting to the free throw line, but they're the worst free throw shooting team in the conference. So Long Beach State, listen, they like to go fast, but they can't get up a whole bunch of points and they're going up against a UC Irvine defense that is the best in their conferences. So many, I mean, in defensive efficiency, effective field goal percentage, defensive rebounding, defending the paint, they're number one, they're first in blocks. So yeah, this may go up and down, but really what you get is a beach team that can hit any free throw, likes to get to the line, but can't hit any free throws. And they're going up against the best defense in the conference. I'll take the under 142 here.”
UCI 71, LBSU 68 — UC Irvine athletics records a 71-68 overtime win over Long Beach State, a 139-point game that stayed under 142.5.
“Well, you guys can call me a square, but I put down on Wofford plus 475, best effective field goal percentage in the conference. They've beaten everybody in this side of the bracket.”
2021 Southern Conference records show UNC Greensboro, not Wofford, won the conference tournament.
“Now, the Pirates, you look at that number 57 and a half at the Westgate, and you think, how does this not go over? And then you look at the Dodgers, you say, well, how that number at 104 circa is a little bit too high, right? So every day you wake up and hope for a Pirates win and a Dodgers loss if you happen to get on those sides. But yeah, I think Pirates in the over is the player for me.”
Baseball-Reference records the 2021 Pirates at 61 wins, clearing 57.5.
“The biggest bet that I like in the AL right now is the Astros to win the AL West at plus 160”
Baseball-Reference's 2021 AL standings show Houston won the AL West.
“As far as some individual bets that I've made Teoscar Hernandez, 200 to one, that's at Westgate right now to win the home run title.”
Baseball-Reference's 2021 batting leaders show Teoscar Hernandez did not lead MLB in home runs.
“Rice plus seven and a half”
Conference USA's 2020-21 Marshall schedule records the Rice series as cancelled, so the Rice spread was void.
“So I'm going to take Wake Forest as a slight underdog, whatever it is,”
NCST 80, WAKE 62 — NC State beat Wake Forest 80-62, so the Wake Forest moneyline lost.
“i'm gonna go i'm gonna go deep i'm gonna go take north alabama plus six i mean they're on a three game losing streak both straight up and against the spread all of those have been on the road They haven't played at home in quite a while, and they're facing Bellarmine, who's on an eight-game winning streak”
BEL 66, UNA 64 — North Alabama Athletics records Bellarmine's 66-64 win, leaving North Alabama within +6.
“earlier today, I took under 127 on the Lancers and the Blue Hoes because of the tempo in this game.”
Longwood beat Presbyterian 49-45, a 94-point total that stayed under 127.
“Texas State minus four currently listed at the number I would suggest getting that and probably not going any higher”
Louisiana beat Texas State 62-60, so Texas State -4 lost.
“i'm gonna go with a big one the kentucky texas game i'm gonna say under 134”
Kentucky Athletics announced that its January 30 game against Texas was cancelled.
“be the last game of the day if you look at the pace between San Diego State and Air Force this will be the slowest game of the entire day uh 331st and 355th uh Ken Palm projects this game to land around 120 on the total the market right now is we're podcasting 129 and I just put it in on the action app so hopefully people are able to get a hold of this as it's sinking a little bit San Diego State's defensively, they're top 20 in adjusted efficiency. This is not a good Air Force team as far as getting up the court. They are one of the slowest. They should have zero putbacks. Even if they get a shot up, they're not going to get any offensive rebounds because they rank almost dead last in the nation in offensive turnover percentage and offensive rebound percentage. So even if they get a shot up, don't expect them to get any kind of rebound and quick score. No quick points here. Slow pace. I like the under.”
San Diego State beat Air Force 98-61, a 159-point total that went over 129.
“Big 10 unders. This is going to be awful. I'm not going out this season on an under. I'm taking an Alabama team total over 41 and a half.”
Alabama scored 52 points against Ohio State, over its 41.5 team total.
“So I like Kentucky in this game. I think the 50 should be closer to around 47. I like the under. We'll see how much more it floats. But, yeah, definitely here going with SEC over NC State.”
UK 23, NCST 21 — Kentucky beat NC State 23-21, a 44-point total that stayed under 50.
“So seven and a half to me is a gift.”
OSU 49, CLEM 28 — Ohio State beat Clemson 49-28, covering +7.5.
“for me right now, as we record, I have money on Oklahoma first half.”
Oklahoma led Florida at halftime and won the Cotton Bowl, so Oklahoma first-half moneyline won.
“I took Mississippi State plus three”
MSST 28, TULSA 26 — Mississippi State beat Tulsa 28-26, so Mississippi State +3 covered.
“I took an under 60 and a half early when this bowl game came out mostly because I have projected the number down at 54”
HAW 28, HOU 14 — Hawaii beat Houston 28-14, a 42-point total that stayed under 60.5.
“Yeah, I'm going to go with UTSA. I know I haven't made a play on it on the action app yet, but looking at Louisiana's trench numbers on defense, they can't stop heavy rush attacks. It's not Sincere McCormick. If you haven't laid eyes on this kid for UTSA, absolutely fantastic. Running the ball. We're talking Jared Patterson type stuff. Their quarterback, Frank Harris, dual threat. He is just as explosive on the ground. They can cover the 14.”
UL 31, UTSA 24 — Louisiana beat UTSA 31-24, so UTSA +14 covered.
He is just as explosive on the ground. they can cover the 14. They can keep up with Louisiana on the ground. I know everybody thinks Louisiana is a superior team, but they did face an easier schedule than UTSA. Louisiana just doesn't have it on defense to control the trench against these guys, so I love beat me.”
WKU 39, GSU 21 — Western Kentucky beat Georgia State 39-21, a 60-point total that went over 51.
“Yeah, it's a game I projected 18 and a half and 64-ish. So the number came out 18 and a half. It's now up to 21. I put a bet in on the action app at 19. Hope everybody was able to get on that because it looks like we're at 21 across the board, which is where it should be heading into while you guys are listening to this on Monday morning. It's just, you know, there's two, it's not that there's a huge edge here, but the one things I can come up with App State is, A, they've played at the surf turf before.”
APP 56, UNT 28 — Appalachian State beat North Texas 56-28, covering -19.
“seven. This game for me was an over 49 and a half when it hit the board. I think 50 and a half is where most of the books are right now. To me, this is an over all the way. If Miller Mosley is the quarterback, there's going to be explosive shots taken on both sides, but Georgia Southern is going”
GASO 38, LT 3 — Georgia Southern beat Louisiana Tech 38-3, a 41-point game that stayed below 50.5.
“I bought UAB at five.”
UAB 22, MRSH 13 — UAB beat Marshall 22-13, so UAB +5 covered.
“Yeah, I mean, it's a game that I make 65 on the total, which is above where the market is. But at the same time, every little piece of data I uncover, I think that this game is going to go under. So I've stayed away from the side. But like you, I made this a single-digit power-rated ball game, which is why I took Notre Dame plus 11 on, I think, Sunday night or Monday morning.”
CLEM 34, ND 10 — Clemson beat Notre Dame 34-10, so Notre Dame +11 lost.
“i'm taking florida yeah yeah i agree with you and and uh you know it's crazy because alabama got done putting an ass whooping on arkansas and the the line there were a number of places offering a look ahead line and the number was at 12 and a half there was a specific place out in las vegas where i was making phone calls like please put this in on the app for me now and so that number I was able to get a piece of 13 and a half right as Florida and LSU kicked.”
ALA 52, FLA 46 — Alabama beat Florida 52-46, leaving Florida within +13.5.
“digit dog i did that last week so this week i'll go a little bit shorter i'm going to stick with what I said earlier. Oregon is going to beat USC outright. But if you're looking for a juicier round robin, I don't mind throwing Oregon State in there. But yeah, Oregon Ducks for me.”
ORE 31, USC 24 — Oregon beat USC 31-24, so the Oregon moneyline won.
“All right, let's start in the Big Ten with Wisconsin and Iowa. At BetMGM right now, Wisconsin is a one-and-a-half-point favorite over under 42-and-a-half. But the unders juiced minus 125. A lot of weather, a lot of wind. Wisconsin's one of my favorite players of the weekend. I was kind of giving shit to Graham Mertz. Everyone was fanboying him after the first game. And, you know, he's lost his pass too. But I still have – I mean, the Wisconsin D has been unbelievable by the advanced metrics. The schedule hasn't been great, neither has Iowa's. But, like, from an efficiency standpoint, from an EPA standpoint, they've been, like, the best defense in the nation in a lot of metrics. So the defense has been really good. They're not getting as much pressure as they normally do with their aggressive 3-4 blitzing defense, but their defense has been great. The rushing attack has been much better than I thought. There's no explosiveness there, but they can grind out yards on you. I look at this. I mean, I make them over a field goal favorite, so I grabbed minus one. I love minus one, so minus one and a half is fine. Because, look, Iowa's 5-2. Iowa is the ranked team here. Wisconsin's 2-2. I think that what's really driving this number is kind of the perception on these two teams. But, you know, you see Wisconsin lose 14 six last week to Indiana, by the way, Indiana finishes seven and one. They were out gained on the year. Indiana was out gained in that game 342 to 217 yards. Wisconsin averaged five yards play held Indiana to four. They lost 14 six. I mean, they're Northwestern beat Wisconsin 17 seven in their game before that. Wisconsin finished with 366 yards Northwestern, 263, 3.9 yards per play. And then they rolled Michigan and they rolled Illinois. So they've just been really unfortunate in their two losses. So I just trust their defense more. And by the way, Graham Arts might be getting, I don't think, I think Danny Davis might be out again, but Pryor might be coming back. He hasn't had his two best receivers, but I trust this Wisconsin defense more, you know maybe snow heavy wind game and I think that we're just getting some value here based on some recent fluky results with Bucky so give me the Badgers here at minus one minus one and a half you agree yeah and there's other points to be made about the Wisconsin defense and especially in this matchup you know Wisconsin is one of the best third down defenses in the nation and this Iowa offense is pathetic on third downs. Outside the top 100, they've converted 33 of 93 attempts on third down. So Wisconsin is going to dominate third downs here and get Iowa off the field Listen there could be a lack of points here and I don think it just because of weather I just think it's because of both defenses. As Stuck mentioned, Wisconsin is playing out of their mind on defense, but the offense just has no juice. In nine possessions against Indiana, the offense averaged one point per trip past the 40-yard line. That is terrible. Wisconsin is moving the ball. They're getting into scoring position. They're coming away with zero points. When I say zero points, when they faced Northwestern, they had six drives across the 40-yard line. They didn't come up with a point, a single point from their finishing drives. So, you know, Iowa is top five against explosiveness, so I don't expect Wisconsin to have any, you know, chunk yardage in here. I think, you know, mentioning what Iowa offensively is on third down and mentioning how unexplosive and there's no juice in the Wisconsin offense, I think you got to take an under here. I mean, no matter what the weather is, whether it's bad or it's good or whatever, I think you got to take an under here no matter what the number is.”
IOWA 28, WISC 7 — Iowa beat Wisconsin 28-7, a 35-point game that stayed under 42.5.
“and now they come home and play San Diego State at BetMGM. BYU is a 17.5 point favorite over under 48.5 against San Diego State. And the question here is, like, does BYU just come out flat? Now, the one thing I have to mention about San Diego State, my worst take of the college football season, of course I've had many, but was Tennessee having a great offensive line that's going to make them competitive? I think your worst take has been about the San Diego State offense. The San Diego State offense. I don't know why they keep naming the wrong quarterback. They said again Brookshire is going to start at quarterback this weekend. He is so bad, so bad. Last week he went – San Diego State won, but he went 14 of 24 for 130 yards. He's worse than Baker, and Baker was playing poorly. Against Colorado the week before, Brookshire went 7 of 19 for 50 yards and a pick averaged 2.6 yards per – I mean, these offensive numbers are pathetic. And they have that kid Johnson. I don't know why they don't put him in. He can at least run towards a tech transfer. They said that he might have a short leash this week, so maybe they put him in. The week before against Hawaii, Baker went 4 of 13 for 30 yards. San Diego State's passing numbers are so bad. So if BYU shows up here, under might be a good look if you think BYU is going to come out flat too and you don't trust the San Diego State offense. But if BYU cares at all, I don't think San Diego State can keep up with them. Thoughts here? It's not really that I like betting on San Diego State, which I have a couple times this season. I like betting their overs. They're, you know, three overs this year, four unders, so it's paid off some, and sometimes it hasn't. It did last week against Colorado State, but the thing is, is they're— It's paid off none. Well, their totals move so much. I think it depends on what you're grading against, because these totals move, like, eight points on San Diego State to the point where it gets down to, like, 40, and then you're like, well, I mean, it's so easy to go over. I don't know. admit this San Diego State offense sucks. I can't admit. I love that. Oh my God, you still can't. These guys are 12th in the nation in rush explosiveness. It's just electric when you see them take off. I love it. Oh man. Let me tell a little story. I'm going to go deep into my past, show some of the podcast listeners how old I am. In 1998, Arkansas was undefeated 8-0 and went to play Tennessee 8-0. Woo pigs! What I'm going to get to here is I believe a team reflects their coach. If a coach is high strung and emotional, that feeds off onto the players, that feeds off onto the team, that feeds off onto the field. And 8-0 Arkansas went to play at Tennessee against 8-0 Tennessee, who eventually went on to play and win the national championship the year after Peyton Manning left. But Arkansas had the biggest soul-crushing loss in football that we've had in decades. and everybody remembers that game. I mean, it's in our intro of our podcast that Sterner stumbled and fumbled. What's the football? Oh my goodness! He stumbled and fumbled! And Houston Nutt is a highly erratic, emotional coach and he just is, he was never able in his coaching tenure ever to recover from losses. When he took an emotional loss, he lost the next game. And so the next week after we lost to 8-0, 8-0, 8-0, and we lost Tennessee, we lost to Mississippi State, a team that had no business being on the same field as us. And that is a reflection of poor coaching. Coaches that don't have enough character to get their kids back up off the mat. How it relates to this game, I think it's the direct opposite with BYU. I think Kalani Satake is the exact opposite of Houston Nut. And I believe BYU is going to come out here and want to dust themselves off, get up off the mat, and make a statement. Can't make a New Year's Six here. That looks like it's been shot. But we can still make ourselves a great bowl game, and BYU can still have a fantastic season. And Zach Wilson came out this week and said, there's no way I'm opting out of whatever bowl we fall into. So that the only indicator like I went and read you know some of the pressers and some of the stuff but Zach Wilson coming out this weekend saying I not opting out for whatever bowl we land in This team I think is tuned in And I believe in Kalani Satake and being able to get up off the mat brush themselves off and put a thumping down on San Diego state So I like the over here I don know about covering I mean I make it a little bit less I think it a bit inflated but I think the over is the play here all the way Not to mention San Diego State You win San Diego State over, man.”
BYU 28, SDSU 14 — BYU beat San Diego State 28-14, a 42-point game that stayed below 48.5.
“dog. I thought about it too. I'm going to take New Mexico. Now, a fifth-string quarterback won his first game. I'm not going to quote off any advanced numbers around New Mexico because they're terrible. They're horrible. But at this point in the season, where we're at in December with, you know, a new head coach and Rocky Long as your DC, and you're still doing your best to try to win these games, a 17-16 win over Wyoming, a competent Mountain West team, New Mexico is maybe trying to find their peak with a fifth-string quarterback. They won that game. I'm going to write it here. They have a great head coach. They have a great defensive coordinator. They're going to get it figured out if they don't win this game, which I think they absolutely will win this game against Fresno. Fresno self-imploded last week, and this has been a hell of a long season for a team that It wasn't even allowed into their workout facility until two weeks before the season. Now we're talking about being displaced because of COVID-19, not able to have practices in the state of California. Fresno wants this season to be over with. And I think New Mexico will happily oblige them. I love the 12, but I'm going to roll some money line here on the, on the Lobos.”
UNM 49, FRES 39 — New Mexico beat Fresno State 49-39, so the New Mexico moneyline won.
“I do agree. I did play Auburn at seven.”
TAMU 31, AUB 20 — Texas A&M beat Auburn 31-20, so Auburn +7 lost.
“We have a tough game for me to cap in Fresno. They're three and one. going to Reno to take on Nevada. Nevada's a seven-point favorite at BetMGM over under 50 and F. I mean, Fresno's played nobody. They played Colorado State, who had the wrong quarterback in in the first game of the year. Nevada finally dropped the game at Hawaii last week. Hawaii took away dubs. They doubled them, and that really limited Nevada's offense. Any thoughts here? Yeah, I mean, Fresno, I don't think that they can compete for the title for the conference because they've had a couple games canceled on them. I think that loss that they took in the opening game of the season was a direct result of what's going on in the state of California and the pandemic. And they were locked out of their facilities. And we have a new head coach who is going to be a great head coach at Fresno. We'll talk to you in 2021 about conference futures. But, you know, Nevada really disappointed against Hawaii. I mean, Hawaii was able to take advantage of them. And I think Fresno can do the same here. It's something I project at five and a half. I think you should definitely lock in and get the seven here. And as far as Hawaii goes, I mean, San Jose State is a bit overrated. We kind of did a deep dive into the Starkle numbers and how he's gotten that passing attack going up against teams that haven't even won a game. I mean, they have like a combined record of like one in 13. So I think Hawaii is the play here because really can San Jose State's defense deal with Siobhan Cordero with the fact that every play is either a designed run or a, third down. He's been a third down magician last week in that win against Nevada. I like Hawaii on the island late. Hopefully, we can all get it streaming. Then, definitely, I'm going to take Fresno here, grab some seven. I would wait to have that number. I think there'll be steam on Nevada. There's been a lot of love for Nevada, but I would get Fresno at seven. Our weekly segment,”
NEV 37, FRES 26 — Nevada beat Fresno State 37-26, so Fresno State +7 lost.

“They had a couple guys that have been out for COVID. So I'm not really afraid of this Rutgers offense shredding Illinois. So I think Illinois can hang around here, and this game will probably be – I played some under two. I think this game will be just an ugly, ugly game if this guy would come down to just random turnovers. Both teams have been lucky in the turnover department. I took the seven.”
ILL 23, RUT 20 — Illinois beat Rutgers 23-20, covering +7.
“Before we get out of here, we have one last thing to do. Hopefully we can make a back to back weeks. That's our favorite money line underdogs. turning good weekends into great weekends it's time for the money line parlay all right i had notre dame last week i'm going this week with a smaller home dog and purdue i make purdue a slight favorite here and a little their what their star d end Karl Afkis, he's questionable. Keep your eye on that. But Rondell Moore, little birdie, West Lafayette, told me he may or may not. I will not confirm. But I'm just throwing this out there. That Rondell Moore was practicing or may or may not have been practicing with the ones today. And he will be playing on Saturday alongside David Bell. Maybe, possibly, potentially. Great call It definitely going to be in my portfolio come Saturday I going to stick in the Big Ten I going with the black shirts I going to go with Korn I going to go with Nebraska”

I hit again last week with Indiana on a prayer. So it's been a good year so far. This is, I had just so many that I could have possibly chosen from. And I'll let you start. I'm going to go big. I'm going to go with Air Force. And I love Air Force.”

“I feel like this total at 48 is just maybe being used by bookmakers as something that they would have come up with from last year. And if San Diego State is going to come out here and run tempo, it's going to change totals for San Diego State really fast. I took it over in this game. I would take it up to 49, 49 and a half, kind of cross the key number there.”

“All right, let's move on to the second Monday night football game, and that is the 2-3 Dallas Cowboys hosting the 3-2 Arizona Cardinals. Dallas is a one-point home underdog at BetMGM over under 55.5. I think this total is a tad high. Another big question is, all right, what is the Cowboys offense going to look like with Andy Dalton? at the helm over Dak Prescott, I think that it'll be fine. The one thing you have to worry about, Andy Dalton, I still think he can throw the ball efficiently. He can hit open receivers. He has a really good running back. The Cowboys have an elite receiving core. They're going to get open. He's going to be able to hit guys, but he's obviously not as mobile as Dak Prescott, and the Cowboys' offensive line is nowhere close to what we've seen over the past few seasons with all these injuries, especially at tackle. so if you have an elite pass rush if you can get a edge pressure against the cowboys you're going to be able to limit their offense more so than you could have done with dac prescott under center but having said that guess who's out now for the cardinals this is just a huge loss just didn't really get talked about enough in the media this past week chandler jones is out for the year This is their best edge rusher. Tomorrow night, his presence going against the backup tackles for the Cowboys would have been huge. And I think it would have been a disruptive force. Killed maybe a driver to maybe force a turnover. The Cowboys don't have to worry about that now. So Arizona has been meh. So far, they're playing like a 500 team, which is pretty much what I've adjusted them down. I've adjusted them up, down, was high on them, low on them. I think they're going to be about a 500 team in a tough division. the Cowboys defense is getting a bit healthier which should help the big question is what is the downgrade from Dak to Andy Dalton maybe some people say it six five I making about four ish points and then the defense is getting a little healthier I make this game around a pick If you read my article on Wong teasers which are destroyed again this weekend I think they all hit. I had the Cowboys to finish a tease at plus eight and a half. It's now a plus one. I show a tad, very slight value on the Cowboys. I like some of the matchups now that Jones is out. so i you know if you if i had to take it now at the number i would take the cowboys but if i didn't have a tease pending i would look for a cowboys number live a field goal or better good chance you probably get that but it's cowboys are nothing for me in this spot what do you see i'm we mentioned at the top of the show there's only one team that hasn't gone over yet and that's the cardinals i'm gonna keep here with uh a total that i think is completely inflated it means it's dalton back there not not uh not Dak and so I'm gonna go with an under in this uh there's a reason these numbers have been set so high with the Cliff Kingsbury offense I think the pace isn't there for either one of these games McCarthy might want to run the ball a little bit more with Dalton back there uh for me this is a completely under game I think you're right I think the I think the point spread is exactly where it should be I would take any Cardinals if I got some plus on it so we'll see if the public comes in, swoops down on the Cowboys and backs them. I don't know. But it may be something that I hit live. But definitely for me, an under in this game.”

“All right, let's move on to third down here, our favorite Moneyline underdog for our weekly Underdog Moneyline Parlay. Turning good weekends into great weekends. It's time for the Moneyline Parlay. We are four and four on the year for like plus six units. We have our weekly piece. We'll write these up as well on actionnetwork.com and the Action Network app. I've hit three of four, all a touchdown or greater. And this week, going soft. I don't love any large underdogs. I thought about Tennessee, but I knew that you would kill me. And I ultimately don't think that they can win the game. so I'm gonna go with a short underdog here in a team I believe is gonna I mentioned this earlier in the podcast why I'm going with hook them horns I think they find a way to win this game”

“total. I'm going to pivot. I actually thought I was going to go Central Florida or Oklahoma State on this podcast. I'm not. I'm going SMU. If you look and see what Houston Baptist did to this North Texas defense, it was unbelievable. I think 600 yards of offense and just running at light speed. When Han Solo puts the Millennium Falcon in warp speed, that's what this game is going to be between the air rate of SNU going up against North Texas. Defense be gone. Although SNU I think can play defense here. I think they will have stops against North Texas. North Texas' defense is really just 11 lawn chairs lined up to look like a 4-3. It's not going to be able to stop anything what Sonny Dykes is trying to do with SMU. Look for a good number. Bet MGM is at 14 right now. I would approve that. I think we make the game 20 in action for a projection. But really, this is just going to be a warp speed fest. And if you know anything about air raid offenses, they like to stay in rhythm. So they tend to stay on the field more and not cut games short. So I expect to get at least three quarters maybe into the fourth quarter even if it like a 35 lead So give me SMU and my overdog There you have it SMU and Western Kentucky All right and before we get out of here finally”

“it's our favorite Moneyline Underdogs of the Week. Turning good weekends into great weekends. It's time for the Moneyline Parlay. Last week, I somehow hit Arkansas State. Shout out to J Adams again. This young man is an absolute freak. Even though they were out eight starters. And Collin almost made it a double with South Alabama, who blew a late lead against Tulane. So for anyone who parlayed them, that 19-1 was very close. You would obviously have many shots to profit if you did parlay them. So for this week, I was going to go Georgia Southern, but they're now pretty much a favorite. So not going there. Houston, very good choice. in my opinion. But I'm going to go with BC. I like the upside of this. I'm going to be a complete hypocrite.”

“And that's the reason why BetMGM has these guys at 11 to one.”
Oklahoma's official schedule identifies Oklahoma as the Big 12 champion; the stored outcome matches.
“And that's the reason why BetMGM has these guys at 11 to one. You know, in my opinion, before we attack the rest of the conference, there's only four teams that can take up these two slots. And that's the four teams we just got done talking about. So in my opinion, I don't think Texas is going to make it. So I'll split a unit, a half unit on Oklahoma State and I'll split a half unit on Iowa State. And we'll see how we try to hedge that out. If Spencer Rattler is everything he's supposed to be.”
Oklahoma's official schedule identifies Oklahoma as the Big 12 champion; the stored outcome matches.
“So you have a brand quarterback a new offensive line and all these things and you basically have a three mean if we being honest So I think this schedule couldn be more beneficial to LSU So I mean if you taking an under seven I mean you basically saying you think they lose all four marquee games, which, I mean, one in three I could see happening, but losing all four doesn't seem likely. So I think I take the over on that seven any day. I'll completely agree. If you own the action app, I believe the same time Brody was talking about that on his Twitter, I was trying to push some money around and get that number move. So, I know. I think we were DMing when I got an alert on Action Network that you submitted that bet. And I'm like, all right, Colin. All right, see you. Yeah, you got to have your notifications turned on because it's gambling season of football. But yeah, that LSU number I thought was a little outrageous. I thought it was about one too shy. It should have been more like seven and a half. So I'm glad I get some agreement here from Brody.”
LSU's official 2020 schedule lists a 5-5 record; the stored outcome matches. (LSU 5-5)

Arkansas's official 2020 statistics list a 3-7 record; the stored outcome matches. (Arkansas 3-7)

Mississippi State's official athletics record lists its 2020 season at 4-7, making under 4 a push. (Mississippi State 4-7)
“[17:56] I took Arizona right after they lost to Arizona State. [17:58] I thought it was a perfect time to buy them. [18:00] They were at similar number. [18:01] I got them at 36 to 1.”
The NCAA canceled the tournament before a champion was crowned; the recorded void matches.
“swallow the whole, you know, the big nine number that's sitting out there right now. And, you know, the thing is, they're coming off of a loss against Rhode Island. They're playing a Davidson team that is just terrible on defense. They don't have any blocks, no steals. They can't defend the three-point line. I think VCU just gets off the schneid here after the loss to Rhode Island. I'll swallow the points”
VCU 73, Davidson 62 — VCU beat Davidson 73-62, covering the -9 spread (VCU Athletics box score).
“I made this line before any of these adjustments. I like Baylor at plus seven and a half, and that's why I took plus seven and a half. And, you know, now I still like Baylor plus five and a half because of Georgia's entire team is out.”
Georgia 26, Baylor 14 — Georgia beat Baylor 26-14, so Baylor +7.5 lost (college bowl results).
“like an 80% chance of heavy rain in this game. Taking all that into consideration, the total, I make it exactly where it's at at 55.5. There's some steam up to 56 in other places, but I'm going to take an under in this game. You want to get to 57, fine, I'll take it. I mean, as many key numbers as you can cross, I'll take it. But I'm going to take the under in this game”
Cincinnati 38, Boston College 6 — Cincinnati beat Boston College 38-6, totaling 44, so Under 55.5 won (college bowl results).
“I'm definitely backing Iowa on the money line. It's two, two and a half. I can see that it's trending up. So I mean, I wouldn't blame anyone for taking USC at a field goal or better, you know, laying points with Iowa's, you know, like I said, tough to do.”
Iowa 49, USC 24 — Iowa beat USC 49-24, so Iowa moneyline won (college bowl results).
“just a small investment on the under 54 and a half. I think the side is correct. I've got it Notre Dame minus four.”
Notre Dame 33, Iowa State 9 — Notre Dame beat Iowa State 33-9, totaling 42, so Under 54.5 won (college bowl results).
“I'm going to go with the same one I went with last year in our favorite bowl underdog money line play, which came through a guy who's a god on road and neutral fields, a guy who's a god against the spread as an underdog. I'm going with Baylor again.”
Georgia 26, Baylor 14 — Georgia beat Baylor 26-14, so Baylor moneyline lost (college bowl results).
“All right, so let's move on to the other game at four. Illinois, California, Cal's minus six over under 44, I believe. It's sitting at 43 now. Cal's minus six and a half. This gives it four Eastern on Fox and Santa Clara. What do you see here? Yeah, I mean, Illinois, I don't know how you can get behind a team that always has a postgame win expectancy below 50% when they win games, especially what they pulled off against the Spartans trailing 31-10 going into the fourth. Cal had a perfect season in through September and then they had an injury to Garbers and he was big for the team this year because they weren turning the ball over despite the fact that Cal defense wasn as efficient as it was last year There's so many suspensions in this game on the Cal side. Defensively, they have three starters out. That accounts for 10 passes defense, multiple interceptions, and forced fumbles. They had a suspension there too, but Illinois' pace of play is top 25, and I expect Brandon Peters to go at the Cal secondary immediately in standard downs because of those suspensions. And then on the offensive side for Cal, they suspended wide receiver Jordan Duncan. He was second in the team in receiving yards. You know, Illinois' defense gave up 44 passes over 20 plus yards. They ranked 93rd against the explosive pass. And Garbers has, there's eight other wide receivers, you know, in the stat box that have at least 10 receptions. So I think the loss of Duncan at wide receiver is not going to be, you know, missed that much. I'm going to take the over. I mean, these are two defenses that are terrible defending the explosive pass.”
California 35, Illinois 20 — California beat Illinois 35-20, totaling 55, so Over 43 won (college bowl results).
“I think it's just going to be all LSU money. I can't see a lot of OU money coming in, but it's not Jalen Hurts. It's not CD Lamb and it's not key members on the offensive line to protect Jalen Hurts. Fair enough. Yeah. I took a piece of 14 because the news was hoping to get 14 and a half.”
LSU 63, Oklahoma 28 — LSU beat Oklahoma 63-28, so Oklahoma +14 lost (college bowl results).
“scoop up to seven. I think you and I are, I mean, we're in complete disagreement about Utah and Texas and how that's going to unfold. I think Utah minus seven is, there's a last call going on with this number. We've been at seven and a half and eight. I project this game at 10. SP Plus projects the game at 11 and a half. I'm not comfortable with Tom Herman dumping almost his entire staff and demoting his offensive coordinator quarterback coach. I think the number is going to go back up. I think if you want to back Texas, wait. If you want to back Utah, which I am, you're going to want to take it now at seven.”
Texas 38, Utah 10 — Texas beat Utah 38-10, so Utah -7 lost (college bowl results).
“I would back Liberty down to four. I bought them at nine and a half, eight and a half, eight, seven, and I put some Moneyline down. This is one of those games. You're going to buy a dog, get some Moneyline down too.”
Liberty 23, Georgia Southern 16 — Liberty beat Georgia Southern by exactly 7, so Liberty +7 pushed rather than won (Georgia Southern Athletics).
“I took Boise at three and a half, and I would suggest trying to get a three and a half.”
Washington 38, Boise State 7 — Washington beat Boise State 38-7, so Boise State +3.5 lost (college bowl results).

Washington 38, Boise State 7 — Washington beat Boise State 38-7, so Boise State moneyline lost (college bowl results).
“Oregon, Wisconsin, I fired on Wisconsin Moneyline because it opened up as a pick. It's now at minus three. I still suggest taking Badgers, even though I do power rate this as a pick.”
Oregon 28, Wisconsin 27 — Oregon beat Wisconsin 28-27, so Wisconsin moneyline lost (college bowl results).
“Michigan State, Wake Forest. I took Michigan State today at minus three. I would take them at minus three and a half.”

Texas A&M 24, Oklahoma State 21 — Texas A&M beat Oklahoma State 24-21, so Texas A&M -4 lost (college bowl results).
“I did take Washington State and Mike Leach in the crazy-ass Cheez-It Bowl against Air Force, who has screwed with the side at the end of so many games this year. Between Colorado State, between San Jose State, Air Force has been one of the most frustrating teams to have a side on. And now they get Mike Leach in the bowl, the famous Cheez-It Bowl. So I took Leach in this at two and a half.”
Air Force 31, Washington State 21 — Air Force beat Washington State 31-21, so Washington State +2.5 lost (college bowl results).
“It's at 6.5, so I need to bet Ohio. We're going to bet Ohio here.”
Ohio 30, Nevada 21 — Ohio beat Nevada 30-21, covering -6.5 (college bowl results).

Appalachian State 45, Louisiana 38 — Appalachian State beat Louisiana 45-38, so ULL +6.5 lost by a half-point (Sun Belt).
“If they lose, everyone agrees that they're out. Right now, this line is sitting at Georgia plus seven over under 54 and a half. I could tell you that I took some under 55, some under in the first half as well. 55, you can try to get it, get it. Key number in college football. I also took a little piece of Georgia. I mean I make this line around five But look what this comes down to to me and Georgia been waiting for this game since last year is I believe in the Georgia defense And it's arguably the most efficient defense in the country. They don't create a lot of havoc, but they have a secondary that can match up with LSU. And their defense is just solid. Front lines to the secondary. They don't give up a ton of explosive plays.”
LSU 37, Georgia 10 — LSU beat Georgia 37-10, so Georgia +7 lost (conference championship scoreboard).
“as far as the bets on this game, I have an LSU first half money line under in the first half.”

Appalachian State 45, Louisiana 38 — Appalachian State beat Louisiana 45-38, so ULL moneyline lost (Sun Belt).
“So the opener of six and a half was pounded by me. I pounded it again at six, went all the way down to three and a half where it should have been. And then Circa Sports today opened it up at six and the rest of the market said, shit, we have got to be where Circa Sports is. Nobody with significant money has come in on ULL at Circa. That number sits at six across the board right now. So yes, I am suggesting a play on ULL.”
Appalachian State 45, Louisiana 38 — Appalachian State beat Louisiana 45-38, so Louisiana +6 lost (Sun Belt).
“I took the under at 52 and a half and that thing has steadily climbed down It is still moving down as you and I record this at 50 And so I think the under is the only way to play this.”
Ohio State 56, Michigan 27 — Ohio State beat Michigan 56-27, totaling 83, so Under 52.5 lost (college results).

“yeah I got it projected at 11 and a half I took Oklahoma minus 12 their number is up to 13 and a half in some places but I would still suggest taking a 13 or a 12 and a half”
Oklahoma 34, Oklahoma State 16 — Oklahoma beat Oklahoma State 34-16, covering -12 (college results).
“I'm on Nebraska plus six. Defense is healthy, and they're finally having clean box scores as far as turnovers go.”
Iowa 27, Nebraska 24 — Iowa beat Nebraska 27-24, so Nebraska +6 won (college results).

Texas 49, Texas Tech 24 — Texas beat Texas Tech 49-24, so Texas moneyline won (college results).
“I took Kent on opener I forgot to tell you I took Kent on opener Really there was a lot of offensive advantages that they have against the Eastern Michigan defense Kent if you don know is like on a crazy hot streak at the roulette table these days They came within two points of going to overtime a couple weeks ago They were able to pull off this 24-point comeback in the fourth quarter against Buffalo. They got ahead last week against Ball State and never let Ball State come back and take the lead. They're just hot right now, and they have to have this game to qualify for bowl season. So, yeah, I'm all over Kent State. I was able to get it open, I think, five and a half. And it looks like the market's dropping.”
Kent State 34, Eastern Michigan 26 — Kent State beat Eastern Michigan 34-26, so Kent State +5.5 won (college results).
“basically if you uva's game this week against liberty by the way i like liberty catching 17 uva's secondary yeah is a mess this game means nothing to uva they were carved up in their last couple games and even against Georgia Tech. And it led me to believe that the Georgia Tech offense was starting to figure things out. That's how bad it was. And then we saw what Georgia Tech did against Virginia Tech. But their secondary is banged up and Liberty can take advantage of it. They beat Virginia Tech next week. They win the ACC Coastal. Pitt, meanwhile, who plays Virginia Tech, a resurgent Hokies team with now a new quarterback under center, looks like he can play. They need to beat Va Tech and then BC. And then they need Va Tech to beat UVA. If that happens, They would win the Coastal. Meanwhile, Virginia Tech needs to beat Pitt and UVA, and they will go. Now, Miami, who's the best team in the Coastal, can't win it. Potentially still go to the Orange Bowl because the ACC is so bad. They could muddy this up by causing a four-team tiebreaker that includes Miami. And in that case, Va Tech would go. And we're getting crazy there. But let's get back to the games here. You know, UVA has a short week before this Virginia Tech game, which basically is going to make or break their season. And, you know, so if they get a big lead or they're going to sit, not show much, They're also a snail. They play very slow. So I think Liberty can hit some big plays in the passing game, which even Georgia Tech did. And Liberty is one of the best passing offenses with a Bolitnikoff winner at receiver and Gandy Golden and our boy Buckshot at quarterback. So I like Liberty there. And you agree? Yeah, I mean, I put a play in on the app here this afternoon on Liberty. I think the number is going to drop. I mean, I have this power rated around 20, but the situation needs some attention here.”

“25 point lead to oklahoma at home screams flat spot this and at the end of the day this line has value uh for days i mean basically baylor we were saying it all year they they lost the game they probably should have won but they were winning a number of games they probably should have lost and they're still inflated in the market here texas's defense has been getting healthier has been playing better. I think this is a complete flat spot for Baylor, which still has holes on the defense still has holes on the offensive line This is a play on Texas for me Yeah it Texas or nothing here Herman he an underdog He a plus six Texas has won this game the last four years and Baylor only won this series four of the last”

“Clemson here is a 46.5-point favorite, over under 58, down from 59.5 against Wofford. the terriers they're an fcs team now they were pure triple option but they're transitioning a little bit to more of a spread you know a 335 is vulnerable against the option and so if they're running pure triple option maybe wofford can it's the great equalizer can have some success but i probably will end up staying away here but you have a position on the total right i do yeah the total opened up 59 and a half and uh immediately i started looking into this game because I know, you know, Wofford being an in-state college there and close to Clemson, I wonder if Dabo's kind of in the mindset of taking it easy on little brother there in the state on the FCS level. So what Stuck is kind of referring to that they used to be triple option and that they're still an option team. I have to do a shout out to the Terriers Twitter account. If you guys go to like Wofford football, like their Twitter handle, amazing amount of video. I don't know what intern or what college kid is running their Twitter account, but it's just so much video. And so I got to watch essentially the entire Wofford Chattanooga game just off of the Twitter handle last week. So what Stuck is talking about about what used to be a triple option is there's always three running backs on the field, and there's a lot of pre-snap motion, and they've got a guy going here and they've got a guy going there, but it's still going to be a thing where they're in space and the quarterback is going to have at least more than one option. He's going to have at least two options after he keeps the ball, no matter what formation they're in. it turns into some sort of way where he's got at least two decisions to make. So looking at that, I started diving into the FCS stats. They're second in FCS and rushing. They're fourth to last in the FCS and passing. So passing the ball I mean it just not a thing that you know in their DNA It brand new to them yeah Yeah brand new They second in time of possession in FCS Technically not a triple team but just like a triple option team they really good at taking long stints of having drives that take a lot of time off the clock. I expect this to be a game where hopefully at some point, you know, Wofford's going to be able to go out there and get some first downs, be able to take some off the clock. I expect Trevor to get his 175 yards, four touchdowns, before everybody's kid, the Venables kid, the Herbstreet kid, all the kids are in playing. And I mean, this is an in-state school that just came off of an overtime win against Chattanooga. So how efficient are they going to be? I just, I think everything to me points to the under, and then not saying that I base the play on this whatsoever, but I went out to Sagarin ratings, but Sagarin does a great job of mixing FBS and FCS, power ratings, point spreads, and totals. And their total was 49. So obviously this was about 10 points higher than what Sagarin would projected at. So considering that Wofford likes to take a whole bunch of time off the clock, and that Clemson might not be in a mood to run up the score, I think the under is the play.”

This offense that Brent Dierman put in, the new offensive coordinator that Les Miles put in. Unbelievable. I know it's a flat spot for Texas. I know a lot of players were hurt. I know Malcolm Roach was out for the first half, but Kansas just flat out brought up 560. yards, 6.6 yards per rush on the ground. I've already, if you've got the action app and you know, I've already bet them against Texas Tech this week at home getting four and a half points.”

You're on the Jayhawks with me, right? Yeah. Yeah.”

“I'm actually on UTSA too, but I'm on it for different reasons. Stock has very valid and good reasons about why you should be on UTSA. But I'm going to go with the fact that UTSA actually might put up more of a fight on the defensive line in the front seven than Michigan. This is a huge hangover spot, and I actually make the game over, but both teams have a subnet yards per play differential. What that means is neither both of them are offensively not doing what they should be doing or what you think Army is doing. They're actually allowing more yards per play on the defensive side of the ball than they are on the offensive side of the ball. For me, this comes down to stuff rate. If you ever listen to the podcast, whether last year, two years, whatever, if you're going to handicap Army and you're going to take a stance against Army, it's going to be with teams that are good on the defensive line and stuff rate and opportunity rate, not allowing them to get two yards when they need to and not allowing them to get four yards when they need to, stopping them in short yardage situation. UTSA was 37th last season and stuff, 23rd in opposition rate. They're putting up good numbers again on the defensive line so far, even though they got blown out by Baylor. They still held Baylor to being only 50% successful in short yardage situation. They were able to stop a couple second in goals, first in goals. If you go through the play log, UTSA didn't have a problem stopping the run in short yardage situations. That's what you have to have to beat Army. So I'm going to take the 17.”
Army 31, UTSA 13 — Army beat UTSA 31-13, so UTSA +17 lost (college football results).
“I'm going to agree with you on the under on Washington-Houston. I actually made a little bet here live on the podcast, taking a little bit of money on the under 73 and a half.”

So I'm going with the Bobs money line. Where are you going with your money line underdog this week? I'm going North Carolina. I believe in Phil Longo. I believe in Jay Bateman and it's not a Mack Brown thing. It's just a thing where I think Miami's still got to figure it out offensively. Don't trust Dan Enos, but I love what I see from Sam Howell in North Carolina and they're going to be not only just my money line. I'm going to back them in every round rob and everything that I make. I'm going to have some North Carolina down”

“this week. Line 20 and a half. I'm waiting for it to pop to 21 to get some Louisiana Tech. You make at 13.7. I think the whole world, even your dentist knows by now that Colin is low on Texas, over under 55. Look, I don't need to go too far into this. Texas is a simple team, people. I have been preaching it for years. Tom Herman, you take him as a dog, you fade him as a favorite, sort of like Mike Tomlin. As a favorite, he's 14-22-2 against the spread. That's sub 40%. And as an underdog, he's 13-2-1 against the spread with a number of just outright wins. So 13-2-1 against the spread as an underdog. 14-22-2 is a favorite. He's a big-time favorite here. La Tech has some pieces that I like that are returning. But look, I won't go too far into it. Texas is a simple team, people. What do you see here? Yeah, I'm trying to leave emotion out of this because I've been against Texas for, I don't know, since January. I don't know, since they beat Georgia in the Sugar Bowl. You're already lying. You're already lying. Yeah, we didn't even get to the Lie to Me segment. Here we go. So let me be analytical about this game. So my power rating is 13.5 on this game. And, you know, even SP Plus is at 15. So the number is a reflection of probably all the offseason noise and love that Texas has generated. And bookmakers could, you know, put the number up that high and they know that they would still take Longhorn money. Circus Sports actually had this at 21.5 for a little bit of time before that got noticed and pulled down. and I was able to grab it at 20. Once I saw the 21.5 disappear a few weeks ago, I knew 21 was going to be last call.”

“gets the cover this weekend out in Cali? We're going to take Stanford, not Northwestern. I mean, Northwestern was the one that, I mean, at least Stanford was exposed finally by Notre Dame, who could actually defend the pass and defend, you know, receivers, receive targets that were six foot seven and could tip ball to themselves. At least Stanford got exposed at one point, but this Northwestern team is just, you know, they should have lost so many games last year that they ended up winning. But this one, I don't think they're going to pull off. The number, I have it at nine, sitting at six right now, it's going to go up to seven. Some sharp money in the market that's taking Stanford, even though it looks like most of the ticket count and most of the money is on Northwestern, the number's moving the other way. I mean, Northwestern loses their best defensive back in pass breakups in Monterey Hartage. He cycles out, and KJ Costello should be able to throw against a secondary that doesn't have a single player over 6'1". Northwestern was 115th in sack rate last year, and they were 116th in opponent completion rate, which means Stanford's going to be able to just throw all day, and KJ Costello is an excellent quarterback. So, you know, This Northwestern defense doesn't have the size on the back seven to keep up or defend what KJ Costello wants to do. And the best way to avoid Patty Fisher is to throw over his head. So Stanford all the way.”

I'm going to trust the veteran quarterback. I'm going with Oregon. Were you rolling here? Yeah, I didn't want to. The only one I could find is Boston College. That should be a pick-em game. It's floated up way too high to 4-5. Boston College won this game last year, and they're going to be able to run on the Virginia Tech defense like they did last year. So, BC for me.”

I gonna say Arkansas under five it was five and a half it taken a lot of money and because it now down to under five and the juices on the under I still say take the under there no way there another team like I said with Nebraska it hard to jump four games in a season so Arkansas team that technically had two wins they really only beat one FBS team for them to get to six I believe they have to have two conference wins That would be coach of the year type material Shop around take an Arkansas under Flipside, take Missouri on the over.”

“One of the best plays for me, South Alabama on the under two and a half. They lose everybody.”
Independent source result confirms the stored outcome.
“And this is just one of our favorite teams. Look, they have a really home-heavy schedule up front. You know, their win total, I believe, is five and a half over minus 130 at circa. You make it six point one. Are we buying Liberty? Absolutely. Absolutely. Preacher Jerry Falwell says we're buying Liberty over five and a half. We're going to do it.”

“I finally saw a little bit of resistance in some 73, 73 and a half's coming back down. I was happy enough to put in a little bit of money Got it on the action app on taking the under at 74”

“Now, I think, you know, Southern Miss, North Texas, and LaTex is the question. Who's going to win the West out of this? In my opinion, the schedule is favorable towards LaTex. Most of these teams have to come through Shreveport. They lose a lot in the front seven. But, you know, like I said, they have a stellar secondary. Already got a play on them on the Action app. If you guys haven't downloaded it and checked it out or gave Stock and I a follow, already on LaTec, a lot of it has to do with, you know,”
Independent source result confirms the stored outcome.
“This team's a mess. You make their total 1.6, and you can get two and a half, maybe three, but two and a half plus big money. So you like the under there, right, with me, me? Yeah, everything is falling off the table here. I'm going to take under two and a half here with UTSA. I don't know where. The second win is questionable. The third win, I wouldn't even be able to tell you.”

“Will that thing be going off in the middle of the FIU Miami ballgame That the big question So I think one team team we can kick out as you don have a shot in the East to win the division is Middle Tennessee for me. I got them on, you know, under five and a half. This was a pretty early and larger investment for me, not just because, you know, the stock still connection is gone. You know, Brent and Rick are being split up after the quarterback has been there taking snaps since 2014. So this is the first time he's going to coach without his son for a large period since 2014. And yeah, 122nd overall returning production. But in the days that he's not had his son as a quarterback, he doesn't know what to do with the offense, or at least they've never, they haven't covered the spread. They've taken some serious losses. They have just one wide receiver with more than 16 targets, and that's a tie league. The defense was six in the sack rate, and they lose 50% of their team havoc in the front seven. 50% of their havoc is gone. So I don't expect them to be sacking anybody. Three of their first four games come against Michigan, Duke, Iowa. Zero shot. Not winning those games. And they don't have the depth to get through if they have any injuries. They start off conference play against the heavies. Marshall, FAU, North Texas, FIU. I mean, this is not the way you want to start off conference play, especially after you play Michigan, Duke, and Iowa. So, I mean, it's just kind of a murderer's road for schedules. They could sweep November, and it won't even matter. I know the November schedule is easy, but they could sweep it, and it won't matter. So I got under 5.5 on Middle Tennessee.”

“I mean, it's a really good point to bring out, but I've seen Florida International at plus 350. But out at the Westgate, they have FIU at 8-1 to win the conference, switch number that I can't wait to get my hands on. But Butch Davis has done nothing but fast track the Panthers since he took them over as a 4-18. They had eight wins in 2017. They had 9-4 last year. You're right about James Morgan. He's a great quarterback. They're 26 in returning production this year. And oddsmakers can't keep up with FIU. They went 10-3 against the spread last year. And Butch Davis is now 6-0 against the spread at home as an underdog. Now, I wrote a a piece on the action network that you should go check out. I'm going to retweet them out here before play starts off about some of my favorite pieces that I wrote over the summer, but there was why does explosiveness line your wallet with cash and FIU is the poster child for this. So both sides of the ball were tops and ISO PPP last year The defense had a 1 rating The offense had a 1 rating What does that mean The offense is a quick strike They can get the ball down the field They can have 30-yard plays. James Morgan is a big part of that, the quarterback. Captain Morgan, as they like to call him down there. You know, if Mason Fine wasn't in the conference, this would be the best quarterback in the conference. Defensively, a 1.07 rating, nobody was getting anything deep on FIU. That translates into an against-the-spread record, and they are just the poster child for that. You know, they have 26th and returning production and everybody back on both sides of the ball. I expect them to still be an explosive offense. And I expect their defense to be able to keep other teams from having explosive plays that, you know, to me, eight to one. I'll take it all day. So I think you need to look at the FIU schedule, too.”

“So ECU, you just love the Dukes and JMU that much and Mike Houston, you're buying them to potentially win the conference? Yeah, that's all it is, is Mike Houston comes over from James Madison. He won a 2016 national championship. Let's put it this way. I had a book shut me down. Like I fired a couple of nickel shots on ECU and then they said, nope, you're limited to $13. So I won't name the book, but-”

“But let's talk about Houston real quick. So, yeah, under seven, I've got their win total even below six. This is one of the first plays that I made when Dana Holgerson.”

“But Bowling Green, I'm taking under three. So one of the plays I've got in this conference, you know, player turnover, new coaches in Scott Loeffler, new schemes, no depth in the program, quarterback gone, everything that you need to put in your mixing bowl to get an under and cash a ticket at a window, Bowling Green's got it. So Scott Woffler has never improved any team he's ever stopped at. They have three realistic chances at a win. That's Akron, Central Michigan. The Chips' new head coach is Jim McIlvain. So, I mean, he's going to get out coached in that spot right there. So maybe it pushes. I don't think it does. I think the Bowling Green under.”
Independent source result confirms the stored outcome.
“I think the Bowling Green under. But I do like Kent State over. Their new coach, Sean Lewis, has done a great job since he's got there. For what he's got, the budget he's got, the program that he's got at Kent State, you can shop around and get a three and a half. But it's worth it. I'm going to take the over. The Golden Flashes face our most winnable games at home with Kennesaw State, Bowling Green, Ball State. A road game at Akron is good to get to the push with four. It's going to be a coin flip, in my opinion, with a Buffalo team. You already mentioned it. I mean, with what they lost, you know, wide receiver and quarterback, that's going to be a rebuild kind of there. And then Miami, Ohio, again, is going to come back to the pack. So I like Kent State over four, I think at a minimum that it pushes.”
Independent source result confirms the stored outcome.
“win total, which is eight. You make it about 7.4, but I think this is a team I want to play on. And then New Mexico and Colorado State, you love the under. New Mexico, I'll let you talk to that. Colorado State, they're the bottom of the mountain. They have no shot of competing with Boise. So is this just Boise is like Clemson here and there's no one that can potentially run with them in this division? Yeah, I will save something for Air Force here, but Boise minus 105 is the only way to go, but I took New Mexico under five. New coordinators for a converted spread offense that actually got slower in pace of play.”
Independent source result confirms the stored outcome.
“The Jags are expected to be a touchdown underdog against Georgia State. And if they can win as FCS Jackson State, that's not a cakewalk. So, you know, I mean, I think that number is going to be around 18. But still, I mean, it's just, you know, that game falls after Nebraska and before Memphis. So, you know, we'll see. But under 2.5 is a play on South Alabama.”

“All right, that'll wrap up the entire SEC. But before we get out of here, let's do a quick recap and maybe give our one or two favorite win totals in the SEC East. Where are you going? I'm going to start off with a Missouri over 8.5. I have them projected at 9.4 just for everything that we talked about.”

I'm going to start off with a Missouri over 8.5. I have them projected at 9.4 just for everything that we talked about. As far as Georgia goes, I'm taking them to win the SEC. I think the national championship number is a little bit deflated. There's still value in them winning the SEC.”
Independent source result confirms the stored outcome.
“And then I'm going to take Kentucky, a little bit of light money, a little bit of couch change on the Kentucky under. I think it's going to be impossible for them to bounce back from what they had. Secondary scares me, as Drew Franklin told us. So I'm going to go under on 6.5 with the Cats.”
Independent source result confirms the stored outcome.
“In the SEC West, what do you got? Their only win total that I really like is an over on Mississippi State. I have them projected at 9.1. I think, like we said, addition by subtraction, Nick Fitzgerald is gone. Tommy Stevens knows Joe Moorhead's system. I think it's going to be a real boost for them, even though they lose a whole bunch on defense. So I'll take Mississippi State over 7.5.”

“Take Arkansas under five and a half.”

“If you can find that if you can find that juice, also shop around for an Alabama. No, to make the college football playoff. Those are plus odds out there. And that is, you know, that in my opinion, I'm going to back that up with my own money. I love Alabama. No, to make the playoff.”
Independent source result confirms the stored outcome.
“But I would look under with Ole Miss I agree with you over on Miss State but I would look under Ole Miss It just look there so many changes there On that offensive side of the ball there going to be you know Rich Rodden, Mike McIntyre on defense. I think those are good hires, but just the amount of turnover, even the offensive line. So, you know, it's the depth is an issue, like I mentioned, with the sanctions. So, you know, I think that there's five wins on the schedule that they can get. I just don't see how they can get to six. so I'll be investing there in under five wins.”
Independent source result confirms the stored outcome.
“What are your thoughts on USC? Yeah, definitely an under. I'm at 6.1. The number's now at 7. I think it opened up 8 in some places, and I took some unders. You know, 7.5 took some under. I still take some under at 7.”
USC finished with eight 2019 wins, so its under-7.5 futures pick lost (Sports-Reference game log). (USC 2019: 8-5)
“So the schedule is really easy. What are your thoughts on Chris Peterson and the Huskies? Well, first off, you got me on a tangent as you were sitting there talking. They have Jacob Kaiser at tight end and they also have a Jacob Bandus at defensive tackle, both freshmen. So, you know, I just can't get over the number of Jakes on this team. Who is this? It's Jake from State Farm. So, Washington, they had the lowest returning production on defense in all of the FBS. Let's just get straight to the point here. Chris Peterson is going to have to do a ridiculous coaching job because it is a fresh set of faces everywhere. Jacob Eason hasn't won the job yet. I have questions about how good of a college quarterback he's going to be. I mean, couldn't win the job at Georgia. did not win the job here in the spring game against Hayner. So there's some questions for me about where the point's going to come from. Myles Gaskin is gone. The defense, on the other hand, has been great. It's been the MVP for them the last couple of seasons. They've lost everybody over on that side of the game. The schedule is something that I really do not like whatsoever. Eastern Washington, if you've watched any FCS playoff games, they like to put 70 points up in a flash. So that brand-new defense, brand-new faces, they get Eastern Washington right out of the gate. Should be a point spread. And it could be 17 up to 28. I'm not really sure what's coming back for Eastern Washington. And they don't play any defense whatsoever. But to expect Washington to win by 35 points with a brand new offense, brand new defense is large. But in the middle of the season, they go to BYU, which is a very physical and very brutal game. And after that, they play USC. So that's going to be tough sledding. I mean, they take any injuries or they're beat up. You know, they have to go play USC directly after BYU. And they have a really tough, you know, they have to go at Stanford. So it's just not, the schedule is easy in terms of the Pac-12. You do have FCS, Eastern Washington, Hawaii is not considered any good. I'm not backing this team to win the North. I'm not excited about Jacob Beeson on the offensive side after he replaced everything on the defensive side. So it's a year that I have pounded the under 10 and it got to, it's down, down to nine and a half. I don't think any 10s exist anymore. Nine wins, maybe. I mean, I've got them scheduled at 8.3. So I would say anything nine and a half, take it under. I still approve of that.”
Washington finished with eight 2019 wins, so its under-9.5 futures pick won (Sports-Reference team page). (Washington 2019: 8-5)
“Everything Utah, it doesn't matter. Over nine to win the Pac-12. Search for the best number out there.”

“Anyways, overall, I'm not taking an Oregon under. Actually, I'm sorry. I have. I took an Oregon under at low limits back in May when they released it at 9. I believe I took it again when the limits were up to $250. on the under eight and a half. But that's the way that I would go.”
Oregon finished with 12 2019 wins, so its under-8.5 futures pick lost (Sports-Reference team page). (Oregon 2019: 12-2)
“It's just that, you know, they got these little bumps in the offseason that kind of got them to 5.3. But, you know, the more I dig into it, do I have a Colorado over three and a half? I do. So I would suggest taking a four. But, you know, doing, you know, more a deeper dive on these guys over the last month.”
Colorado finished with five 2019 wins, so its over-3.5 futures pick won (Sports-Reference team page). (Colorado 2019: 5-7)
“I have a small piece of Stanford over seven.”
Stanford finished with four 2019 wins, so its over-7 futures pick lost (Sports-Reference team page). (Stanford 2019: 4-8)
“How about you? Favorite ACC win totals? Yeah, I think we're doing the listeners some justice here because we've got almost every team encompassed here with some sort of total. I'm saying BC under six and a half. There are six and a half out there. Shop port and get it because I think six would be a push.”
Boston College finished with six 2019 wins, so its under-6.5 futures pick won (Sports-Reference team page). (Boston College 2019: 6-7)
“then Northwestern closes after that Minnesota game at Illinois so let's talk Illinois you know they're projected to finish last in the wild wild west they're over under four and a half wins Colin you you know gave a little teaser maybe an overbet here you project 4.7 wins they should have a really good rushing attack they have 17 starters returning you know I think that they have four wins on their schedule like you know for like I'm confident they're going to win these four games and then it's you know can they pull a mild or a bigger upset to get to five so you're higher on Illinois to the market yeah I do like Illinois and I just you got to look at their schedule their schedules you know really worst team in the MAC UConn worst team in all of college football Rutgers worst team in the conference uh Eastern Michigan is going to be you know hovering around the 100th in S&P Plus this year. You're right. They had one of the top 10 rushing attacks in S&P Plus last year, led by running back Reggie Corbin. He returns. They have four offensive linemen that started the entire year. They return. And Brandon Peters, the old quarterback from Michigan, he transfers in to compete for the job. So there's a lot of positives going on here. Lovie Smith is on the hot seat. I like this team. I think they can get to four and they can at least push. So I would look for the cheapest, you know, of juice that you can find on four and take the over because I've already got money on it. This thing opened up at three back in May. So I was getting money down in Jersey offshore in Vegas where I could. I'm still hitting it at three and a half. If you can find a three and a half out there it worth the juice Four I would look for the lowest juice possible But this is absolutely an overplay for me The Fighting Illini Getting Love on the Big Ten football podcast preview that has to be a first Let talk a team”

“I took under eight at plus juice.”
Nebraska finished with five 2019 wins, so its under-8 futures pick won (Sports-Reference team page). (Nebraska 2019: 5-7)
“What are your thoughts on Nebraska? I think everybody should set an alarm on their phone for around August 22nd. And that's, you know, August 22nd, August 23rd is right before week zero. So all the win total should still be available. Wake up that morning and do your due diligence and search all the legal books for a nine and take an under there. Because I'm obviously taking the under. I've already taken the under. I took under eight at plus juice. I've taken under eight and a half with extra juice.”
Nebraska finished with five 2019 wins, so its under-8.5 futures pick won (Sports-Reference team page). (Nebraska 2019: 5-7)
“They've never been there, which is crazy. But Ohio State, look, we said new defensive system. They have a new quarterback, new coach. The defense should be better. They bring back nine starters. But I mean, can they finally stop explosive plays in this new system? What are your thoughts on Ohio State overall? I'm right there with you. I mean, I'm on the under two. I've hit 10 at plus juice, and I've hit under 10.5 with plenty of minus juice.”
Ohio State finished with 13 2019 wins, so its under-10 futures pick lost (Sports-Reference team page). (Ohio State 2019: 13-1)

“Ohio State not and I just don think they going to get over 10 and I happily put my money on the under with these guys”
Ohio State went 13-0 through the regular season and Big Ten Championship in 2019 (ESPN schedule), well past 10 wins, so the under-10-wins bet loses.
“So give me two teams whose win totals you hate right now that most people would look at and say national title contenders. I hate Ohio State and I hate Washington and when I say hate that means I using the money that I can to get under their win totals and that is certainly in the face of a lot of people that I hearing out there who love Ohio State They love Justin Fields transferring in from Georgia They love Ryan Day as the head coach”
Washington finished the 2019 regular season 7-5 (ESPN schedule), under a typical preseason win total, so the under bet wins.
“But there is one game, there is one team in the SEC that I feel like you have severely potentially overvalued the Missouri Tigers. Ooh, and that's supposed to be this, you know, for my alum from Arkansas, we have this made-up rivalry with Missouri. I don't know why they keep pushing it. It's not a real rivalry, but you're right. Missouri is, I think, fantastic. My number matches nobody else. I haven't seen anybody go, I haven't seen anybody put out a win total and stand by it that's over eight. I've seen eight in some places. That's what it's listed in Vegas, and that's what it's listed in Jersey. But I've got this number over nine. I would take this at eight. I would take this at eight and a half. and let's talk about the transfer situation. Kelly Bryant comes in from Clemson. Obviously, Missouri was able to win that battle with some of the other teams that were vying for him to play quarterback. They retained their running back, Larry Roundtree. Missouri has four wide receivers that had 50-plus targets last year. Kelly Bryant has a ton of weapons. Defense was seventh in rushing S&P last year, and they get their top linebacker back, Cale Garrett, who accounted for 15% of the team tackles, and they return their top five defensive backs in the secondary, which is great. Their non-conference schedule is filled with teams that are incompetent on offense. We're talking Troy, West Virginia. That's a Will Greer, less West Virginia. We're talking Wyoming and the powerhouse of Southeast Missouri. It's really a really easy schedule. As far as conference play goes, they've got the two worst teams in the West, which is Arkansas and Ole Miss. Missouri over eight. They've got all the weapons. They're going to make a run. They have a chip on their shoulder because of this bull band, which I think is going to be lifted at some point. But Missouri over eight, definitely.”
Missouri finished the 2019 regular season 6-6 (ESPN schedule), short of 8 wins, so the over-8-wins bet loses.
“wake everything going on but uh east carolina i i loved it this year and i kind of feel like uh everybody's starting to catch on because wind totals are out for all the teams now and I had to fire on three and a half and I had to fire on over four”
East Carolina finished the 2019 regular season 4-8 (ESPN schedule), landing exactly on the 4-win line, so the over-4-wins bet pushes.
“BYU is a must-watch this year, and they're an over six and a half play.”
BYU finished the 2019 regular season 7-5 (ESPN schedule), over 6.5 wins, so the over-6.5-wins bet wins.
“Yeah, I think Mark Whipple's using language that was acceptable in the 60s. He's not up and hip with the terminology that you can and cannot use today. So with that, we're going to move to the Big 12, which the one team that jumped off the paper back when New Jersey started putting out win totals, they put out an Oklahoma State five and a half. Now you came out at seven with a juice to the $1.30 on the over. My number on this is 8.4, which is way off of the current seven. But I mean, I got enough down. I got a little bit of the five and a half. I got more on six. I got more on six and a half. And like I wrote for the Action Network, you know, I would take this all the way up into seven and a half because there's so many things going on with this team that I like.”
Oklahoma State finished with eight 2019 wins, so its over-5.5 futures pick won (Sports-Reference team page). (Oklahoma State 2019: 8-5)

That's over six. That's a ridiculous number. I know it's juiced right now, but it's a play at six. It's a play at six and a half.”
