Alabama -14
“They're going to need some flukes to win the game,
but I think two touchdowns is too much.
I think this line should be closer to 10.
When I'm looking at Cincinnati-Bama,
my biggest thing when I look at this game,
and at 14, I'm going to take Bama minus 14
for a couple reasons.
Cincinnati, I agree.
Stucky, Sauce Gardner is one of the most
top corners in the country.
I don't think he's seen Jamison, though.
And I'm wondering and assuming he's probably going to follow him around, especially now that Mechie's out.
The biggest thing that having Mechie out hurts Bama is now they can bracket Jameson Williams a whole heck of a lot easier without having to worry about getting their pants pulled down on the back end.
You can only bracket so many people.
But the difference to me is and will always be up front and at the tight end position.
You know, it's a game of matchups.
It'll always be a game of matchups.
You look at Latu, a guy that I think has snuck under the radar this year, showed up big against Miami.
He's made some big plays, kind of disappeared in the middle of the year.
Saw him a little bit against Auburn, especially in the overtime.
But his blocking has gotten so much better throughout the year.
Billingsley is a matchup problem.
I mean, a guy that's over six foot four, 215 pounds, they can put outside and go win the jump ball.
But I love the inside and I love the seam.
You know, Cincinnati's pretty good in the back end.
You know, I would say when you look at them and Georgia from a draft standpoint,
Sauce is obviously going to be the first guy that goes.
But I think depth wise Georgia has them there And I don think Cincinnati seen anything like Alabama I mean they struggled with Navy You struggle with Tulsa and with game day there But the game always comes down to up front for me
And I don't think Cincinnati is going to be able to get pressure on Bryce Young.
And when they do, I don't think they'll be able to get them down.”
ALA 27, CIN 6 — Alabama beat Cincinnati 27-6 in the Cotton Bowl CFP semifinal; Alabama's 21-point margin covers -14 (ESPN).
SMU +11.5 · FanDuel
“Checked it this morning. It's plus 11 and a half right now. Give me SMU plus 11 and a half at Cincinnati.”
14-48 — Cincinnati beat SMU 48-14 at Nippert Stadium; the Mustangs lost by 34, busting the +11.5 spread (Cincinnati Bearcats 2021 season schedule, Wikipedia).
Kenneth Walker III to win the Heisman (+450)
“Well, you know, I don't think Colin's far off base there at all,
especially what we know Bryce Young's going to see in Atlanta
when they play against Georgia.
But kind of looking around the rest, and I'm looking for a more value buy here.
Kenneth Walker III plus 450.
The reason is he's the whole team offensively, and he has opportunities left.
I know it's kind of contradictory to pick Ohio State plus 350 to win the natty
outside of Georgia and Bama and then pick Kenneth Walker III plus 450
to win the Heisman as they play each other this weekend.
But if Michigan State does go off and we've seen Ohio State play up and down, this hasn't been a super unbelievably consistent Ohio State team that is now just burying everybody.
They struggled a little bit with pickups.
eight. We've seen there has been some holes in the defense. They switched to a lot of zone coverage,
which helps you against the run. A lot of people don't realize that when you're in man and they
break a level, a lot of guys have their backs turned. But when you're in zone, safeties,
nickels, even corners, depending on what you're running, are able to get to the ball carrier
quicker. Their eyes are in a different spot, whether it's going Q to two from the safety
position or Q to one from the corner position. But, you know, Kenneth Walker III, to me,
still has a chance to put together big opportunities.
Because if they beat Ohio State, which I don't think they will,
but if they do, Michigan State's sitting pretty.
They're sitting very pretty because we all know the other side,
like Colin mentioned, with Wisconsin and Minnesota is not nearly as strong
as what you have on the side with Michigan State, Penn State, Michigan,
and Ohio State.
So Kenneth Walker III plus 450.
If I was going to look outside of Bryce Young and CJ Stroud,
that's where I would go.”
Bryce Young (Alabama) won the 2021 Heisman Trophy, not Kenneth Walker III, so the futures bet busts (Heisman.com official winners list).
